Venting!

John from Salon Now can kiss my ass.

When i called a week or so ago and told him i not only needed a colour, but probably a colour correction , he booked me in at 2.30 today, knowing they close at 4. I didn't think it would be enough time. But, hey, it's been a while since i worked in a salon, so i guess i must be rusty. I doubted my knowledge, and that is a pity.

I arrived on time, even a bit early and waited 40 minutes. Liz was running late. And i could see she was working hard trying not to be late.

When i sat down and told her what i wanted, she had a bit of a meltdown. I told her that i told the person who answered the phone what i wanted and needed and was told there would be enough time. But there wasn't.

And now, i can put the voice to the face and the name to both, thanks to Liz telling me his name. John answered the phone and booked me.

Of course, i left disappointed in what i have. It's OK. Not great, but OK.

Liz did her best and stayed over an hour and half late to finish it. I have no issue with what she did and tried to do for me. She calmed down, calmed me down and got my hair to a point when it looks... well, less fucked up. And not bad, not bad at all. Considering the time contraints and the messed up head of hair she had to work with, she worked her ass off.

But it isn't what i wanted. Not the pretty reds i wanted to be out in the warm Tennessee air with at our friend's wedding.

And i don't want to be upset about it because it is just hair. Hair grows. And now, when it grows, i won't have too much of a regrowth line.

But i am upset about it. I wanted to enjoy the walk from the salon at Allen and Elmwood home here to Bird and Grant. Nice day, pretty red hair... opps... well, it was a nice walk. Shame that every step i took i was less and less happy with my damn hair.

For Our e:Lord and e:Creator

Since you have moved from food to trash, (e:Paul), i thought i would take and post a couple of pictures of the very full dumpster at the estate sale building for you.

As i mentioned, i really really really loved throwing things out the window into that dumpster. Now, it is full. Boo hoo...

Correction

I have a few things i need to clear up. I don't think it's a big deal, but i just don't want ya'll to get the wrong idea.

My mean and evil bosses are not really mean and/or evil. But don't tell them i said that. Truth be told, i'm rather fond of both of them.

One of them can't decide where her bra is supposed to go. Psst... inside the shirt. No wonder she's know for being mad.

image

And the other claims to know how to do laundry. Can't tell from the look of this shirt, now can you?

image

I am ever so grateful that i am the one that holds the camera. Who knows what kind of pictures of me they would take!

I've had a lot of jobs in my time, but i've never had as much fun working as i do with them. Honestly, people, how many of you can say you leave work tired but happy, laughing and dirty, almost looking forward to another day of it?

image

Working for them, i feel valued and worthy. Can't say, job wise, it's happened to me before...

Wellie Funeral *sob*

Today i finally did it. I gave up on my wellies. I loved them, but alas, they let me down.

The brown flowery ones i wore often this past autumn and winter, but come spring, they sprung. A mere once (e:Uncutsaniflush) tried to repair them.

My black polka dot ones, i wore only once or twice. I loved them. Attempted repairs were made several times. None successfully. Now, they are gone.

Chaos and Shoes

Today started off on bit of a chaotic note. My mean and evil bosses and i forgot to arrange a time for me to get picked up to go to work. Guess that's what happens when we take a day off.

I was just out of the shower with my hair up in a towel when they arrived. Funny how when i am up early and running on time, i wait. Yet, when i think i have lots of time or i am a bit behind, they are on time.

My mom was also on the phone wanting to know about the cruise... It was difficult to put on deoderant, dress and talk on the phone at the same time.

The day wasn't a total writeoff, however. I got fed a yummie greek salad for lunch (sorry, (e:Paul), no pictures) and got to be the assitant to the urban anthropolgists.

After work, i got myself a cute pair of shoes -- that are totally out of character for me, but i really like them -- for the wedding in KnoxVegas next week. Whoo hoo! Shoes will always make a girl's day brighter!

I leave you, dear readers, with more pictures of the bane of my exsistence -- dishes, dishes, dishes!

Back To The Grind

My mean and evil bosses allowed me one measly day off yesterday. Well, mostly because they had stuff to do, too.
(e:Britian) needed to celebrate his birthday.
(e:Heidismadhouse) needed the chiropractor.

I got to shop for bras. Now if that isn't just as much torture as bathing suit shopping, i don't know what is. But i so needed to have at least one that would be suitable underneath the dress for the wedding we are attending in a coupla weeks.

Today, we are back at it. I wonder what the day will bring? Some dust, i am sure. I took my alergy meds! The attic and its ghost that (e:Britian,39082) posted is surely cleared out by now. The dumpster should be gone. We had so much fun flinging things out the window of the second floor to the waiting dumpster below. My head is feeling better from the sharp whack it took when i misjudged the opening of the window as i tossed something out...

I reckon, i will be doing more dishes. Thanks to the mad skills of the Time Warner engineers, i am able to bring you an example of my work...

Cruisin'?!?

My cousin, Rob, recently moved to Texas from Detriot when he got promoted in the audit firm he works for. I was surprised to find out his girlfriend was going with him. He hadn't been seeing her that long, it seemed, and with his last girlfriend, he couldn't commit to adopting a dog with her. I thought he would end up a tall balding accountant George Clooney type -- a perma bachelor.

I was wrong. I got an email about a week ago saying that he and Karin were getting married. Cool. Yay Rob!

The email also said they wanted to break with tradition and not do the whole church wedding gift getting open bar dancing receptiony kinda thing. Cool beans. Not what myself and (e:Uncutsaniflush) did either.

The email said that they would be getting married on a cruise ship. Before it departs. Then out to sea. And we were all invited... for the wedding and the cruise. Nope, they aren't picking up the tab. But the price is decent.

Of course, (e:Uncutsaniflush) and i thought we wouldn't go. We don't feel like the cruise types.... and i reckon we thought we could do better for just under a coupla grand.

Then, yesterday morning, my mom called me. Her and my dad are thinking of going! What?!? My mom is willing to be pried out of her office for an entire week!?!?!?! No way! Way.

Seems that my dad's recent scare and her slightly ill health over the past year has made her think about mortality. That saving for retirement might not be the best option. What if ill health prevents them from doing what they want to do once they retire? What would be the point of that.

The message (e:Uncutsaniflush) and i have been trying to tell her for years sunk in. Enjoy life now while you have it!!

She also said that if (e:Uncutsaniflush) and i wanted to go, her and my dad are willing to pay for the cruise for both of us as birthday and xmas gifts. Wow. Nice offer. We're thinking about it. Seriously. Might be fun. Well, except for the part that my family will be there.... can't have everything, huh?

Two Days

Yesterday

Throwing things out of upper storey windows is satisfying. Things that bang and hiss when they hit the bottom of the dumpster or something else in the dumpster are delightfully satisfying.

I don't like waste. I hesitate to say i am like a hippie that way... that and wanting to be barefoot all the time. Don't tell the punk lobby, i might get myself tossed. That said, it felt very old school to be hurling things out of windows.

Today

I haven't seen (e:Uncutsaniflush) all day today. Very odd. We've been married for over 5 years and this has never happened. I said goodnight to him when i got home last night, about 24 hours ago. And i spoke to him twice on the phone today. Now, i am waiting for him to get home so we can, perhaps, go to bed at the same time. *gasp*

I think someone beat the shit out of me and i didn't notice... feeling a bit battered today. Yet, the only thing i can tell that got broken, by me at least, were 2 bar glasses.

Dish Pan Hands

For the past 2 days i have been washing dishes. As i mentioned a couple of days ago, (e:LeeTee,38962) i am odd job girl for Ian and Heidi. When we arrived yesterday, i helped fill up part of a dumpster, then volunteered (yeah, ok, so i did live in the Volunteer State, but sheesh) to be on kitchen duty. Ian was busy with some heavy lifting and grunt work, and Heidi was not into the kitchen grease. Today, i spent about 4 hours with my hands in and out of dishwater. Someone better buy those damn dishes at the estate sale or there will be hell to pay!

One of the reasons i thought about posting now was to get my name up on the "most recent entries". Ian asked about (e:strip) when he saw our bumper sticker and visited. But, like me (but without (e:Uncutsaniflush) there to guide), he was confused at the opening page. I mentioned my (e:strip) name so perhaps he will see me there.
