A very spoopy Hollaween

It was absolutely insane. I think there had to be over 150 people who came by the end. The music was awesome, so many people got to meet and catch up, and I didn't see a single person having a bad time. Full on debauchery.

I wanted to be a puppy but had nowhere enough time. So I became Michael Phelps. Just add goggles, (e:paul)'s swim suit and ready to go.

Even the Buffalo bike party came and made us a stop on their party tour.

Thanks to everyone who made it out and made it super spoopy.

Savers thrift store

While doing some last minute Halloween shopping with (e:paul) and (e:flacidness), we came across this awesome new thrift store in the old Rosa's plaza at Sheridan and the Boulevard. It was huge, super clean and had a ton of decent clothes. I would have gotten some if we didn't have too many. There even was this guy buying a really nice road bike when we got there.

The only gross part was they were constantly spraying air freshener around the store.

In contrast, we stopped at Michael's before and it was full of brand new garbage. Somewhere in the world, people are producing plastic fruit destined for the landfill.

Petrified scooter

While moving the server back into the basement with (e:paul), I cleaned up a few cobwebs with a stick. Like some sort of disguting cotton candy, I wrapped it around a stick. Somehow I found this petrified scooter who managed to get caught in a web.

Biketober fest and the beer bike

On Wednesday, (e:terry) and I made it out to Go Bike's Biketober fest at the new Flying Bison brewery in Larkinville. We met up with the usual bike people - I also got to talk to two of the bike and ped engineers for the city. Apparently they had heard about my winter biking and were really interested in hiring me.

Outside, the new Buffalo beer bike was out giving rides. It's a lot like the ones in Portland and Germany - a driver serves drinks to ten or so people who pedal and ride the bike. The max speed is only 5 mph but it's so freaking awesome. Sadly they were done giving rides by the time we saw it.

Empty boxes

(e:terry) ordered his Chun-Li costume off party city's website. They thought this box was reasonable for a flat, unbreakable costume:

Cemetery bike ride

Tuesday was a super nice day and probably the last one for a while. So (e:Paul), (e:terry) and I cut out of work to fit in a bike ride. Fall color mode was full on.

Phipps Conservatory pt II

(e:paul) and I got to see the garden again, this time with (e:terry) and with a lot more in bloom! The sustainable building was done too - it didn't have much function but the net-zero energy usage is freaking awesome.

Hot Mass and Lucky's

After Tuneyards, we had the most ridiculous night. Booty abounded.

We started off at Luck'ys again which was cool, but not as packed at before. It still had the dive bar, dance-floor-is-gonna-cave feel that I wish Buffalo had.

On the way out, we passed this bail bonds place with an upstairs that (e:paul) and I had wondered about before - turns out it was a bathhouse with a huge rave going on underneath. It was called Hot Mass - Paul has already written about it but it was the one of the best parties I've ever been to (or smelled).

I don't think I've ever heard such a crazy voice before. The show was at a giant old church complex called Mr. Small's fun house.

Everyone in the crowd got so pumped for their best and most popular song - Gangsta.
