lunch time, dinner time etc

monday nov 15th

enjoyed the long weekend. monday came and I didn't feel like being on time today. what else is new. perhaps I enjoyed sleeping alone in my Queen size bed far too long [inlink]metalpeter,193[/inlink]/ [inlink]lilho,190[/inlink]!!!
I cannot remember when I slept in a twin size bed...hmmm
All I know is that I love my featherbed and down comforter - yet I currently desire more fluff but perhaps less feathers. As I wake up with feathers in my hair sometimes and oftentimes they get in my clothes too! speaking of feathers; those birds @ Union Station are going to drive me nuts. they fly so damn low and right at you - they are fearless and demand that if you don't get out of it's way you will be hit!!! Yuck!!! There is no escaping it since I have to go through this station 4 times a day. Perhaps I can minimize it to twice daily if I start taking lunch and stop buying expensive crap everyday. Today I ate at Starbucks and had a turkey & havarti while reading "Dick for a Day" by Fiona Giles. I do enjoy eating in the station because I get to people watch or listen - listening to people talk about one another, complain that their order is incorrect; watch people dart for trains and the metro; watch people watch you; etc etc etc;

I must say its a totally dangerous place - there are so many resturants its insane! (e:Terry) we would never have to wonder what can we eat for lunch it would be what won't we eat today!!! big_grin I must ween myself away before I become a rollie pollie - there is an inhouse Ben & Jerry's too!!! mmm yummy! Why can't lunch be two hours long? I could have a full course lunch meal and take in a movie before returning to the office .

brb must cook a real dinner.

So I decided to make boneless skinless 99 % fat free thinly sliced chicken breast w/marjoram & a drizzle of roasted garlic olive oil and stuffing for dinner. and because I don't want to open another bottle of wine I will drink what is open: Santa Rita Sauvignon Blanc ((who ever brought this to my birthday party - Mucho Grazias, its delicious)) Now I should have leftovers ommitting the wine to take to work for lunch tomorrow thus limiting my contact with those crazy nasty birds that look like they ate squirrels for lunch!

TIME & Holidays

still unpacking. kitchen=1 box left; bedroom=too many!!! empty boxes=everywhere!!! sigh...

Is it too early to start my frivolous holiday wish list? the sights and snow flakes from Buffalo are inspiring me:

1) Mp3 player (pink mini ipod or a cute rio) need some tunes to boogie to while commuting!
2) digital camera still on the list (canon please santa or whoever)
3) money is always acceptable
4) flat screen pc monitor - this one is functional yet ultra bulky - furniture must be streamlined in smaller living spaces
5) new car w/sunroof cd player tires w.hubcaps engine/transmission that is reliable
6) shoes (imagirl)
7) money to buy roundtrip ticket to see family @ christmas
8) can anyone say a tv that is bigger than micro mini one...
9) a presidential agenda that is acceptable to all (wishful thinking)
10) world peace still makes the top ten

time to let the sweet dreams tea do its magic - although last night I had a cup & had the craziest dreams. lots of people I didn't know and places; flying cars and stuff.

100 short thoughts

Can this post continue for days to come? how about the rest of the week???
I thought the 100th post would be something profound - overflowing with deep, self explanation & exposure of southernyankee. oh well. there goes a bright idea.
I won't complain too much, except I have an early curfew: Yes boys and girls the night owl must retire by 10pm (last night it was 9pm) Adjusting to morning rush hour sucks! Boy do I miss those days of going into work @ noon (& hung over on most of them!)
No siree, can't pull that off here (at least not yet) j/k
super sleepy am I. no time to unpack today - time to crash. bundle up Buffalo - I dedicate to you"Baby It's Cold Outside" by Rod Stewart feat Dolly Parton from the new album Stardust, The Great American Song Book Vol III (even though I like some of the other versions better)

I hope everyone is still around to fight against the crazy local govt. there+. No public libraries? Buffalo doesn't need access to books -just more bars!!! It will be the new locale for breeding illiterate hooligans who could challenge capt. morgan any day! It's really a shame that things have progressed this bad.

I watched my local town board meeting on tv here & one of the citizens' biggest complaint was to ensure the city govt had some say so in what color to paint "Grandmas Cottage" - he went on to say that it should not be painted chartreuse, hot pink or any other color that would signify same sex partners(not the term he used).... WTF? since when does the color of your house send out batman like signals that you like the same sex or anything other than your lack of coordination of color scheme? I love chartreuse and hot pink! I personally like the opposite sex(on a good day that is...) but what the heck does that have to do with anything. same dude thought it appropriate to wear a slogan t-shirt to this public hearings (anti-abortion it read in so many words) - whatever. this isn't said to open a can of arguments on the site based on which side of the fence you vote on or where your moral values fall between the red/blue lines but the point being made (all while I fall asleep) is that I felt he represented so many more Americans and how they feel that they are right (right up the ally of the pres) in what they believe in and that laws should be enacted to protect his feelings/opinions.
Laws should be there to protect us from danger, etc but not from our neighbors way of life that in no way infringes on my life;

personally can't stand hate. Hate for the things that you cannot change about yourself or others. I sat next to a man on the long train ride home and could feel his levels of discomfort rise...
get over it. we live in a world where people are from different cultures, have different ideas, practice different religions, and so forth...

you were born into this world the way you are for a reason. if we had control over how/who/what we are - I wonder how that would turn out? I really think we would be the same way in a lot of ways (maybe a little different - I doubt anyone would pick the option to be a slave)

I have totally digressed in a major way and its waaaaaaaaaay past night night time. sorry for going off on a obscure tangent. later

Party A PArty A PArty

Wow, what a wonderful evening @ the (e:estriphouse)! The peeps represented in full costume. ps. DR. Chlorine wants the community to know that he and (e:Rachel) are just friends. However, he says, if she were to wear eyeliner and perfume she would be all his...

so anyway, speaking of Dr. Chlorine came dressed as Darth Vader, Jim came as Charlie Chapin, (e:) Mike came as Captain Planet, (e:) Jill came as Margot from the royal tenenbaums, (e:Tina) and (e:) lilho came as Brit Pop Chics (but I told them they look like escape convicts from a hot lesbian women's fashion prison instituion!)(e:Rachel) came as a satanic catholic school girl from another realm; (e:Trisha) came glammed out as always & accompanied by hubby (e:paulnotpaul). and then there was (e:) Springfaerie all glittery with big beautiful wings that were purplesque! oh and there were others too, like Juan Valdez, the coffee man & then (e:) southernyankee (me) came as temptation with a capital T as described by (e:Dr). Chlorine (you know how that goes) I really looked like Minnie Mouse with little devilish horns, apparently I cannot be as evil as the package looked!!!

There was even a haunted house tour (Josh provided the scare simulation)

Captain planet has returned to his normal look. (e:Mike)!

Before I arrived, I stopped by my neighbors party and Melissa was oh so fabulous!!!
decked out as a cutey queen witch

check out the pics (soon to come) ((courtesy of (e:Tina) and (e:Dr).Chlorine))

lots of fun was had by all...of course loads of dancing!!!
I will totally miss seeing everyone and having a good time in life with you on a regular basis. but there are always visits!
I don't know what I am still doing up. drinking champagne and all when I have loads to do... I have never drank champagne out of a smirnoff bottle - how crazy is that. you know the party is crunk at that point!

I have a headache now. I need to nap for four hours.

The next few days will be off the charts nonstop!!!!!!!!!!
I need to be up by seven thirty or so... I had to spell out sevemthirty since I don't know where the nuimbers are right now. two many chocolatini's courtesy of (e:Paul).

oh and the magna fun part was the greatest gift ever!!!!!!!!
A chronicle collection of Barbra Streisand Music given by (e:Matthew).
I LOVE IT!!!!!! You have no idea how much pleasure this will bring me... YAY!!!!!!
I LOVE HER!!!!!!!
