jack, crissy and janet

We got an apartment! Yesssssssssssssssssss! (e:Decoyisryan), (e:Nejifer) and myself will be the new occupants of a lovely little 3 bedroom flat. This place is da bomb! The landlord seems pretty cool and he is renovating the place entirely! Beautiful hardwood floors, a gorgeous fireplace, granite kitchen counter with a new sink, appliances, basement laundry hook ups, updated bathroom...AND, he's going to let us paint the bedroom walls if we so choose. We also have a nice big front porch on which to enjoy warm summer evenings with tasty mojitos and friends. Ciao!

elmwood lounge

I was supposed to meet a friend for brunch at the Elmwood Lounge today. Well, let's just say this was another test for Lady Croft. My esteem is not exactly high caliber right now, so I felt like a pretty big ass the longer I sat there waiting for a friend that never showed.

So I had the choice of leaving in my embarrassed state, or eat, because I was really hungry. I've been wanting to check out this brunch for ages. So...I chatted things up with the waiter and decided to eat.

This is a testament to all those who have wondered if you would spontaneously combust when dining out alone. I'm not saying I enjoyed it immensely, but I lived to tell the tale.

I had a mimosa (is it bad to drink alone on a Sunday morning???) and spinach omelet, which came with toast, potatoes and tapioca pudding. All of this for $6 on the nose, no additional tax! I think it is a spiffy deal. I recommend you try it. Brunch is served every Saturday and Sunday from 9-3pm. Ciao.

his sexual fantasy

Last night provided me with some much needed low stress entertainment. First (e:Decoyisryan) and I hit up Left Bank. I met up with David, the super mchottie bagpiper from Jackdaw, and a few of his friends.

Then we went over to Broadway Joe's. Karma Police were playing. Forgive me (e:Vincent), they weren't bad, but I didn't find them exceptional either. In the least, it was decent and provided good background music for playing pool and chillin with friends.

I met up with this guy that supposedly went to high school with (e:Theecarey), (e:Vincent) and myself. Carey says she remembers him, but I don't. It's odd, because I have pretty snazzy facial recognition skills. I suggest I simply didn't have a single class with him, therefore never saw him, so how would I know him now?

I think the most entertaining laugh of the evening came from (e:Decoyisryan) when he drew me a diagram of his #1 sexual fantasy.

Can you figure out what it is?

true potpourri

I went to see V for Vendetta with (e:Matthew), (e:Paul) and (e:Terry) last night. Seriously, I almost came home and shaved my head. If I had access to a buzzer in the middle of the night, I would have.

A friend passed me this in class the other day. I had to laugh.

Here are several random questions:

What would you do with 1,000 plastic spoons?
I have a sweet recycling book that shows you how to make a super fly outdoor chandelier out of them!

What did you do when you were in school in the 2nd grade?
I don't know but I do have one distinct memory of a spelling test on which I spelled OF, UV.

Where are you going on your next vacation?
It should still be Germany and Poland, followed by India.

Last book you read?
I think Deception Point by Dan Brown.

What is your favorite smell?
Pumpkin and Lavender.

Have you ever gotten a haircut so bad that you wore a hat for a month straight?
If I told you the story of what Fay Ruben did to me you almost wouldn't believe it . . .

Last song you listened to:
The Cedar Room by The Doves

Have you ever had surgery?
Hahahahahaha. Oh yah sure you betcha!

Drinking and driving is BAD kids! Don't do it. My friend came over to play some Mario Kart last week. We had a LOT of beer.

Resulting in piss poor driving skillz on my part!

join croft's army

Right now I'm feeling a little bit like this:

image

I seek peace. I need peace. Peace of mind, peaceful sleep, peaceful dreams, inner peace, peace and quiet....peace. I know I'm not alone.

Join Croft's army in the quest for peace. You might liken it to Monty Python's search for the Holy Grail (speaking of Holy Grail...The Davinci Code premiers on May 19!) but I'm always up for an adventure.

i said pumpkin!!!

I went out with some of my classmates tonight. We ended up at JP Bullfeathers and I got excited because I was really hungry and this place serves pumpkin ravioli! I took my first bite and thought to myself, 'this doesn't appear to be the correct texture'. Then I thought to myself, 'gee where is that sweet spice flavor to accompany my pumpkin'. Then it hit me. The repulsive taste of shrimp. SHRIMP!!! I spit it out into my napkin. I had to chase that nastiness with 2 Irish car bombs to get the taste off my tongue! Blah!

On the way out we noticed the estrip chalkings on the sidewalk. I'm glad it's out there, but I'm not gonna lie, my heart broke in two that I wasn't involved. Ask (e:Decoyisryan). I meeped for about 10 minutes. Ciao.

it's a sunshine day

I took my sister, Brad and Alex to Niagara Falls yesterday. At one point in my life I was a licensed tour guide, so I really do enjoy taking folks to see it. I never get tired of it. It was such a beautiful day full of sunshine and rainbows. It really lifted my spirits.

We played around at the Midway on Clifton Hill for a bit. Later that night we decided we hadn't had enough, so we went to Dave & Buster's. That place is fantastic, I never knew! Video games, bars, pool and bowling! We should make an (e:peep) outing one night! Ciao.

I was having coffee at SPOT with (e:Nejifer) and (e:Decoyisryan) tonight when (e:Joshua) made an appearance. It reminded me of when I ran into he and Jerry at Cecilia's last week.

broken dream

I most likely will not be able to continue with my plans to visit Germany for the big FIFA World Cup 2006. It kills me to even think about it. I've waited 4 long years for this and now, just as I can see it on the horizon, a thick fog rolls in. So close, yet so far away.

Maybe it's selfish of me to want to go but it has been a dream of mine to watch my boys play in the end all be all of soccer championships (my opinion, yours may vary). My family needs me. More specifically, my pregnant sister needs me and I should do everything I can to help her, including missing my trip. I can't do both. I simply don't have the funding, nor the time. That makes me a little bit sad. Ciao.

....and you'll never walk alone.....
