Fire

My friend Patrick, his mom, his brother and his dog lost their house in a fire sunday, along with 3 other families. A little girl died. My community is rushing to support the families - a memorial sunday night that drew 225+ people, a fundraiser sunday with chicken barbecue, 3-on-3 basketball tournament, silent auction, bake sale... Patrick is kinda home based here at wendy's, along with his dog peewee. She's chilling in her two-story mansion.

Taj grill

(E:terry) got a groupon for taj grill on delaware ave and we went for lunch today. The buffet was good and we tried some new things. terry says the tandori chicken was particularly good.

Camping

I went to my usual memorial day weekend bluegrass party, here are some pix. I didn't take my real camera, I just wanted to be in the moment, although the crappiness of these photos makes me regret that decision.

A and I filled the back of my pickup with stuff - tent, sleeping bags, pillows, air mattress, table, grill, coolers, chairs, clothes... There's a reason my handle is jamnturtl - I wanna take my whole house with me when I travel. :-p

I watched the dawn break three days in a row... but before that campfires :-)

Kelly's 40th birthday

Jill threw Kelly a huge surprise 40th birthday party with an '80s theme today (uh. yesterday. got distracted). I know this is a lot of pix, but it's been a while since I've touched my real camera and I had a lot of fun. I thanked Jill for NOT throwing such a shindig for me - I would have been pissed and very uncomfortable.
