Impractical Cartography

A friend of mine wrote:

There's a project called Impractical Cartography that is currently collecting submissions from writers about your experiences at locations here in Buffalo, whether they are "non-fiction prose, humor or poetry."

"So we're building a rather impractical map of Buffalo...

Our map will be based around your short pieces about your experiences in the city. After all, even the smallest city ceases to exist without its people and their stories - good and bad. So let's make something that goes beyond a simple marker of various locations and incorporate ourselves into those spaces.

We are looking for a variety of pieces, whether they are non-fiction prose, humor or poetry. Maybe it's an experience or conversation that shaped the way you think about this city--a conversation with friends and neighbors, a particularly depressing football game, the bathroom of a now closed dive bar. The only requirement is that your work involves a specific place in Buffalo and that it is a maximum of 2 pages.

Let's define our neighborhoods with our own stories."

They would like to include these stories not only on their website but also in the 2013 Small Press Book Fair, so they need any submissions by January 31.
