Dianne's Birthday

On Monday everyone came over for dinner for Dianne's birthday. The food situation was seriously crazy but it ended up working out alright. Tanya made an amazing pesto sauce pasta while Paul made steaks for the cow eaters. I'm sure they were good but I only could guess from a steak fat kiss.

Alex made the caramel cupcakes which made me food baby.

Dianne got some pretty good presents I must say.

Just say no

I managed to do it. They have cookie dough and rice crispy flavors as limited edition oreos.

These Oreos sounded so good, especially after the amazing birthday cake edition they had last year. I know I'd end up eating the whole pack though.

Robert's BDay and Ladies of Amsterdam

After (e:Robert) and Mickey came over for Robert's birthday, we ended up watching some movies and having amazing Wegmans brownies with ice cream and whipped cream, plus chocolate sauce. I didn't manage to get any pictures! HBD!

We also watched this movie called "The Ladies of Amsterdam". it was about these two old twin women in Amsterdam who were prostitutes in the red light district. It was crazy, they actually recently officially retired at 70 but one still had about 10 clients a day near the end. They were kind of pioneers in that they were some of the first to break away from pimps, and set up sex worker unions. Not sure if they were ever lookers but I have to give them props for sticking to it.

Can't say I ever want to be with a creampuffy grandma while she sings "Wheels on the bus" though.

Broken Terry and the bougie clinic

So (e:terry) hurt his knee at the roller rink the other night. Today we went to Immediate Care on Delaware Avenue. Its so ridiculous, it has a waterfall, expensive k-cups and all these TVs. No wonder its expensive to go there. They even have a loyalty club card that my parents have.

Fortunately we didn't have to Seabiscuit Terry and he just has to wear a brace and crutches for a week. Poor guy, he can't even straighten it :(

After we headed to Saigon Bankok for lunch.

Zombie Whiteout at the Rainbow Rink

The music, skating and everything was freaking amazing. We went with (e:yesthatcasey) and met up with Tanya and Michelle. Casey and (e:xandra) did us up with makeup fakeup.

I was way better at skating this time but still not as good as (e:terry). He was trying to teach Casey.

The dancing was so good. There were so many types of EDM but I thought the 313 and Happy hardcore were the best.
The crowd was a little weird and only got weirder at the after party. Everyone there was rolling pretty hard and very North Tonawanda. Still was a great time despite the squished ride back and stank pizza.

Dinner at Sato

After work (e:paul) and I went to Sato for dinner. It opened this week in the old O3 place. I had the vegetarian curry ans split some vegetable rolls with Paul. The food was good but kind of bland and lukewarm. For dessert we had the coconut honey rice pudding which was really good. I totally want to make it at home.

The tables were so close together we couldn't help but listen to the people next to us. Paul heard this couple arguing because they weren't serving sushi and we both heard this lady tell her crazy blackout drunk stories with some guy in DC. So much drama

Cooler Couch

Yesterday after having dinner with my parents I met up with (e:xandra), (e:terry), (e:Heidi) and (e:dianne) at Fat Bob's for a beer. There was the ridiculous football couch with a cooler built in. I wonder if it makes your ass cold when the cooler is filled?

Then we went home, and missed the Datsik show while I got in a fight about taxes with my dad. Talk about the last thing I ever want to do. Sorry (e:paul) :(

Truck rides with strangers

I decided to ride my bike this morning even though the weather wasn't amazing. I saw (e:libertad) walking to work on North. I can never tell if that means I'm running really late or early.

Anyway I was riding down Fuhrmann when the wind and snow started picking up like crazy. A city truck was behind me so I pulled to the side to let him pass. The driver asked me if I was crazy, but I said "No, I'm just going to work."

He followed for a bit down to Tiftt before he honked and asked if I wanted a ride. I hate riding through Lackawanna in the snow since they never plow. So I threw my bike in the bed and got in. It turned out it was the Buffalo DPW commissioner Stephen Stepniak. He told me I was freaking crazy but he liked that I had guts. Once he found out where I worked he told me to send a resume to his office in City Hall.

So the moral of the story is take rides from strangers because how else are you going to network?

The ride back was real nice. I even had a good experience at Rick's for once after I stopped there for new brakes.

Paul's b-day dinner

On Sunday we went to dinner at Paul's parents with (e:mike) and (e:libertad) for Paul's birthday dinner. I didn't take any pictures but I don't think Ive ever been so full in my life. Paul's parents were so nice, I even sort of enjoyed playing Balderdash.

We saw this ridiculous show called in the Heat of the Night about this small town having a crack epidemic. it was so over the top and dramatic, need to find the next episode.
