My nephew on the horizon....I really dig sonogram photos!

Just got official word that my little sister is coming up from Orlando with her baby's daddy for Easter. Now I'm in charge of throwing her a baby shower, much like I was for my older sister. Good news is, big sis will be coming up with my little nephew Max to join the festivities. I'm happy to have the chance to cradle his delicate body in my arms again. Maybe I'll bring my new guitar along and play him a lullaby.

battle of the bands tonight

Hilbert College in Hamburg, N.Y. is hosting their annual Battle of the Bands competition TONIGHT March 21, 2006!

Eight bands are performing and the show should prove to be an incredible event. The show is open to the public, and is $4 for non-Hilbert students. Free food will also be provided!

The following acts will be gracing the stage:

6:30-7pm: Standard of Living

7:15-7:45: Phil Sivecz

8-8:30: Now or Never

8:45-9:15: The Great Mistake

9:30-10: Any December

10:15-10:45: John Schmitt

11-11:30: The Thermidors

11:45-12:15: Dorian

grrr

Got home late last night. So happy to sleep in my own bed, with no kids around. Only to be woken at 8:15am to thumping on my wall. They installed new carpet in the lounge, but apparently this takes several days to do. My boss has the laptop for her trip so I head down to my office to work on my DC photos. Only to open the door and find a ladder, missing ceiling tiles and a whole bunch of wires hanging down. A little post-it on my computer monitor reads: computer offline while rewiring is done. Blah.

Went to Left Bank tonight for some drinks with (e:Jenks) and a few friends. I was itching for a DiSorono all week and finally got one. I was all dolled up and looking snazzy, but the only guy looking was an older looking man with grey hair.

Came home to find a notice on the hall doors: Water will be turned off all day starting at 8am Friday morning for repairs.

SON OF A BITCH! Can't I get ONE DAY OF PEACE????

lunch of champions

Starting St. Patty's day a little early, or, a lot early. Went to the Steelhead Pub in Lewiston. Had a 'boxty' which is a potato pancake stuffed with corned beef and cabbage. Washed it all down with a pint of Guinness and enjoyed to the sounds of old Irish tunes. Yeah.

And did you know, it takes 96 teaspoons of Guinness to fill that pint?

dashing fellow

I was attending an ultra-mega-platinum-first-class party at a mansion in the middle of nowhere. You had to be dressed up. All the (e:peeps) were there. Then Wiley Wiggins showed up in a red smoking jacket looking all daring and dashing.

The strange thing is, he was looking for me. I kept trying to get to him and all the (e:peeps) were holding me back, trying to distract me, divert my attention, confuse me....keep me from finding him.

WTF is that all about!?? Let me have my lovely dreams in peace!

I actually slept last night. I forgot what it felt like to feel safe and warm surrounded by soft sheets and blankets. To wrap myself in a beautiful dream. One where I was loved, and he held my hand and smiled, then brushed the hair from my eyes. I knew I was alive.
