Festivus
Once again we celebrated festivus with my family, this time before (e:terry) flew to Florida. this time (e:xandra) joined us. We ate calzones and snickers, Seinfeld food.
(e:uchina) rest assured there was a lot of cheese.
BTW I AM STILL YELLING FROM THE AIRING OF GRIEVANCES. You must yell to be heard at these gatherings.
My family guilted me into joining the capitalism fest of Christmas coming up. They brought us beer from Wisconsin and a propane camping stove.
I swear it's not a cheapness thing for hating it. I hated it all the nonsense even when I didn't have a full time job.

Sameer and Jessica's wedding
On Saturday we rode down to Sameers wedding with Jessica at the Pearl Street.
It got cray. The food was really good, and the couple very cute. And met some cool people.
I got chipcrunk with (e:terry) on the Pearl Street IPA and we tore up the dance floor with everyone (there may have been grinding involved).

Bare Ass cheeks
I don't think my cheeks have been exposed in three years. I keep shaving a little more off every day.

Kerfuffle the concert
Before we left we got our first snow.
I love the colors of the old train/our current study.
Matt and Kim turned out way more interesting than their albums. The Kim girl had a crazy body and insane amount of energy. She walked out and danced on top of the crowd.
Børns was pretty good. Third Eye Blind was pretty awesome as well but they had a weird churchy vibe going on in between sets. Terry got hit on by a girl and people were smoking up everywhere.
The Bavarian Einhörnchen Squirrel came down with us! We bought him earlier in the day at Neo.

Shufflin'
I went out on the Black Rock King Rollers ride, which went out to Hot Mama's. Claudia and I whooped ass at shuffleboard - 23-11. She claimed to have never played. I think she's a shark.

I wrote an advertisement for (e:strip) up on the board at Essex. I don't know if it's actually the first blog site but nobody fact checks bathroom chalk boards.

At the Food Terminals
Do you know they sell eggs there? Allegedly grass fed free range. There's even the used up corpse of the chicken who pooped them out.
The first store we went into was a weird dent and scratch reseller. They sold trim, toilets, sinks, and a thousand of the same model printers that had an Amazon label on it. Is this where your Amazon returns end up?
The second one was a restaurant food supply place. My mom used to buy bulk bags of mozzarella (that's where so many pizzas originate (e:uchina)). If you ever want five pound of pepper flakes, or mayonaisse by the gallon, be sure to stop here.
We tried Hydraulic Hearth again for brunch on the way back. I thought Paul ordered a coffee but it turned out to be a double shot, oops.

Frosty Tones Rave
However in the drum and bass room there was a stupid hypeman who kept shutting off the music. Who wants to sing the Bills shout song in the middle of a rave? Not me.

Deutschland bound!
I finally got my check for Squeaky Wheel which I reserved for a trip to Germany. I have been searching constantly for the best deals. Using kayak I found a few amazing deals.
For three weeks in June, we could have gone round trip from Toronto to Hamburg for super cheap - $1800. Anyway we decided to split up the trip from north to south, and finish the trip in (e:paul)'s ancestral home near Venice. So flying out of Toronto on June 8th, and coming back from Venice on the 30th ended up being $2200 total for all three of us. Woop.
Not only that, but I managed to find very cheap passes for the Deutsche Bahn so we can make our away around for a fraction of the normal ticket prices.
We haven't decided everywhere we're going. But we're probably starting out in Flensburg, where (e:paul) went to school the first time around, for the first week. And spending the last few days in Venice.
The list of things I want to do:
1. Ride the high speed ICE bahn train
2. Go naked swimming legally
3. Speak German to people
4. Eat some Turkish food

The Gratwick building view
Since it's 7 floors tall you have a pretty good view of downtown and even the lake. The parking wasteland is ugly but you can get a nice view of the sun when it goes down.
From Paul's desk you can the most ridiculous traffic I've seen in Buffalo. Every day, a 15 minute long line queues up outside the valet for people waiting to valet park. It completely closes off the street, everyone honks, it's crazy. I definitely see why they have the service - if you're sick or disabled, it's probably very helpful. But that can't be everyone in this line - you definitely could park in the visitor lot and walk over by the time you got through.
Maybe if more medical campus employees biked, walked and railed to work there would be parking for disabled patients who need it - instead we drop $40 million dollars of health care money on a parking ramp. Why doesn't the medical campus spend $40 million dollars subsidizing transit, bike, or carpooling incentives? If you don't like parking 5 blocks away into the Fruit Belt, the residents don't either, and you don't want to pay the (already subsidized) lot fees - maybe you should find another way to get to work.
