My new bed is awesome. Every morning I have to pry myself from its ultra comfort. As my Christmas present to myself I bought:



The to top it off I have some kick ass memory foam pillows and 400 TC Egyptian Cotton Sheets. The new down comforter arrives today. I have always dreamed of the most ultra comfortable bed ever. I think I am getting close to that goal. I'm going to Ikea this weekend to take a look at some new bed frame options. Ultra comfort and wonderfulness here I come!

For those guests who are used to me giving up my bed when you come to visit- I'm going to have to say f-off. I'm never giving up my bed for the couch again. Sorry bitches, the bed is just too wonderful now...

I haven't posted in a while. I go through these bouts of thinking estrip sucks, then being like what the fuck, I have nothing better to do at work so why not. I just can't stand the highschool drama (secret identities and such) I mean WTF are we 16 or nearing our 30s and beyond.

Anyways- with that I'm sure to be unpopular sediment I'll move on:

It's ok to be jealous. They fucking rock the party. Yet they've turned weird in their recent stardom. And they are all about the asian invasion or yellow fever as some call it. I think it's all way to John and Oko for me. However during the night I did meet this kick ass girl and had a great time. I've met more rad girls in the past few weeks then ever I think. They actually all are real scientists, ironic i know. Nothing like talking about cations at 4am.

Favorite quote of the evening: "I started out with Chili for dinner so why not tacos at 3am?"

Thats the first thing I said this morning. As many of you may know the TWA has decided to strike. A brief overview of this:

Imagine you live near a huge city. In this city the main way to move from place to place is a subway. Now imagine that you do not actually live in this city, but in another state that is seprated from this city by a large deep river. Now imagine the closest you can get to your job is over two miles away and its 10 degrees outside and yes you must walk to get to your job.

Thats my life. A 2 hour motherfucking commute in 10 degrees. Yes I could take a cab to and from work. It would only cost me 30 each way. To me spending my entire Christmas bonus on cabs seems totally reasonable.

There are a few high points to all of this though:

Yesterday I got a ipod nano from this woman i work with. Sweet. My christmas wish came true. Apparently baby jesus was listening (well actually is he was really listening she would have given me a puggle puppy- but im not complaining).

This whole walk to work in my sneakers and skirt makes me feel very working girl ala melanie griffin in the 80's.

I finally replaced my lost cashmere scarf, so my neck was at least warm.

How long will this piece of crap strike continue? About 10-12 days by all estimates. I now have a grudge against the mta. I will hold that close to my heart forever.

Would it mean that I'm a failure if I gave up on New York? What is the cost benefit of living here versus living near those that really mean the most to me? Maybe I don't have to constantly prove that I can succeed beyond everyone else. Maybe being me is just simply enough. For the first time ever I think I have realized that this all stems from having a father that abandoned me. No matter what I did or how hard I tried he still left.

Thank god I'm going to go hang out with the Irish hottie, otherwise I might sit here and continue to drink this bottle of Champagne...

Once at the log cabin bar things get really hazy- however we did get an amazing $5 cab ride from Brooklyn to the PATH train which is unheard of. I think they guy took pity on me and my sister at 5am. And the next day I woke up at 4pm- yeah I wanted to die.

I just googled "Puggle+Buffalo" and my journal is the third hit. Scary. I am so in love with these dogs.

In college I too had a secret crush. Well really I always have secret crushes, but in college I was very smitten. It was a super hottie in a frat who was one of the only Latino men I had ever seen. Now I know you are saying ew frat boy, but my crush developed because he was not the typical frat boy. He was smart, kind, caring, a bunch of fun and unlike aNYthing I had ever encountered. And there I was this farm girl from upstate ny that loved hot pink and all things techno.

I first saw Louis in one of my poli sci classes- we were the same major- during my first semester freshman year. Turns out he was one of my friends roommates. So over the course of the next few years me and Louis developed a friendship of sorts. We'd study together for finals every year. Our traditional celebration at the end of finals was a blunt and a 40. He'd wake me up for class, I'd let him borrow my Clinique moisturizer, one time i let him do my eyebrows. One year I made pink and white cupcakes for valentines day wrapped them up, put them in front of his door, knocked and ran. He never knew who did it, and he never suspected me because he offered me one. But we never really ran w the same crowd. During all this time his mother passed away. Watching him handle that with such bravery just made me think he was amazing.

So my senior year of college my friend Lisa and I were talking. She told me I should just make a move. I went though all the reasons I couldn't. She then looked at me and said "when you are 30 looking back do you ever want to think what if, and regret anything?" That did it for me. The next night I made a move and me and Louis hooked up for the remainder of the semester, which was only a month. The entire 4 1/2 years I was at school he had no idea who I felt about him.

I guess what I'm trying to say Jason is don't be a pussy- just take life by the balls and go for it. You'll be glad you did.

And for that great bit of advice I'd like a puggle puppy in return.
