creeping & games

I was having a great dinner at the yummy PF Changs last night and noticed this tall, older, distinguished gentleman who arrived with a date in tow.

Whatever. I was just noticing.

Well they were seating in the adjacent table. The entire dinner he looked at me straight through his date! Initially I thought I just wasn't seeing it properly and it was just my imagination.
Of course his date looked quite young, but who cares - whatever floats your boat.

So as he & the date are leaving, he precedes to eye me up right in my face! My entire dinner table broke out in laughter and mimicked slurping noises. It was too funny. can't hate the playa - gotta hate the game they say. guess you'd have to have been there.

I think what makes it hilarious to me is that my dad & I had a convo the other night about the older man, younger woman thing.
He said, the only thing a man whats that is old would be money.
I giggled. But at the same time it pissed me off since I am not frolicking in my 20's anymore.

Similar conversation erected from a phone call from my sister. I didn't bring the topic up. She felt to tell me that I may have to marry young if there is any hope at all...
Don't get me wrong, I am not out cruising any scene for a husband. Not really in that section of the market necessarily.

I have these traditional expectations that the right things happen at the right time.

My sister made jokes about how funny it would be if some random person from the past showed up to rekindle something from ancient years past. She brought out a name from the archives.
My take on this is - folks are living the lives they want to live. Right?
How successful are do overs anyway?
They say people grow over time and experience things that make them more enlightened and perhaps a better person overall.

I think I have met quite a few people who have not seem to change

Although these conversations I held with my sister and father were comical at the time, it also made me wonder if they think that I am turning into some old maid with no prospects in sight?

30, no drama basically(as I have learned to drop the A-Holes in my life), no husband, no kids. We'll see what life has to offer is my motto. Till then, I am cool as a cucumber!!!

On another note of games: PlayStation 3 is out.
I have not bought a PlayStation game in years. However this one seems pretty sweet. Makes me what a dedicated Game Room in my dream house!

Proud Papa

My father finally expressed to me today that he is proud of me and the accomplishments that I have made in my life.
I really never knew. I knew that my mom would be proud but she was more expressive than he is in the parent arena.
All I can say is WOW. My dad is always full of silly jokes that I never found funny. I think sometimes I am too serious and have always expected this specific parent role from him. It has been difficult to accept him for who he is because all I ever heard was how different he was when my parents married. So I think that I was waiting to see this other person. Perhaps this other person who would seem more equivalent to my mother. After all, they fell in love, married and had children based on some likeness. right?
So he tells me that he has always been proud of me and may have expressed it to me in an indirect manner. He said that he would always tell me that "I was good to go!"
I would have never realized that was suppose to interpret to "proud of you oldest daughter".
I was such a straight laced, honor student and self sufficient child. But I always wanted to know that my parents were behind me.
He then went on to state that if he never conveyed his feelings in a more direct way to me, that I should know that he brags about me to everyone he knows.
Who would have every known?
Especially since I always felt that he blows me off when I come to town to visit the family. Maybe that's a whole 'nother can of worms.

Well, interestingly enough after 30 years, I got the wonderful opportunity to know that my father is proud of me.

what the damn!

I have seriously been fiening Rice Krispie Treats for two weeks! I walked to 7 Eleven last week to buy my ingreds. but to my astonishment, they do not sell marsh-a-mallos! Nor do they sell Rice Krispies!!!
WTH???
So I came home and found about 15 hard marshmallows and some remaining rice krispies to concoct my treat. Needless to say I didn't have the same gratification as I would have if they were quite fresh.
I am just in an anti grocery store mood this month. I'd rather eat out every day then go to the market at this point.

Moving on,,, I found marshmallows @ Target Greatland yesterday but again - no krispies!!! So I make another trip - to the market I go to get the main ingredient.

Now I am ready to make my snack! All gooey yuimminess ready to be inhaled...

But alas, I still came up empty handed. (Read On)
I made it in my nice pyrex dish in the microwave.

This is what happened as Snap Krackle & Pop screamed:

videos

Okay it's not really a secret *at least to my family* how addicted I was for years to The SIMS. I still miss playing the game. But due to a poor quality PC,memory,hd (I know, all fixable items),e tc. I have not been able to play and drown myself in their nonsense. whimper**

SO anyway, I delight myself and get my SIMS fix by watching SIMS based remakes of celebrity videos. begin here:

One comment:In one video remake, Beyonce done replaced Kelly & Michelle with chilren from da playground! Apparently they come package with eyeliner and hootchie dances pre-installed.

But I think these are neat. Perhaps only if you are a SIMS aficionado

the dry sea 2048

In recent studies - it is predicted that seafood will be scarce come year 2048. What do they think I will eat if there's no seafood?

best & worst

Out of a total of 371 cities ranked by the FBI in June 06 - Amherst, NY was ranked 2nd least dangerous city & Buffalo, NY ranked among the worst coming in @ #340 !!!
Atlanta came in @ #355, DC came in @ #353. Compton,CA - Camden,NJ - Flint,MI - Detroit & St.Louis came in as the 5 most dangerous cities.
hmmm... I was going 2 head 2 ATL next but maybe it's safer to be a soccer mommy in Amherst (not that I'm a mommy yet or into soccer & minivans!!!
