Neither Have You Tasted My Jesus

VenomFangX's Official Website

You are either: A person who claims to have experienced God, who says atheism is false because of their experience, or a person who claims to have had no experience of God, who says theism (belief in God) is false because of their lack of experience. Is lack of experience really a good way to form a world view? Atheism is ignorance, nothing more.

Seriously??

How about this.

"You are either a person who claims to have experienced God's non-existence, who says God is false because of their experience, or a person who claims to have belief in God, who says disbelief of God is false because of their lack of experience. Is lack of experience really a good way to form a world view? Faith in God is ignorance, nothing more." -- me, just now

If your argument is such vapid nonsense that you can fill in the blanks with any old abstract thing, maybe you have a problem with rational thought, and the only logic you're capable of understanding is circular.

'Neither have you tasted my Jesus'? I mean seriously. Aaarrgh.

That the argument above is used to justify creationism and Biblical literalism makes my head explode. Ignorance of God is shameful, but not just ignorance but willful ignorance of science is a well formed world view? SCIENCE, HAVE YOU TASTED IT?

I don't think even Jesus ever tasted that Jesus.

Storm Gathering

Oh, give me a break...

If you are for gay marriage, and you can't get married - you don't get a bunch of explicit, specific, access to tools that greatly help you to take care of the person you're with.

If you are against gay marriage, and gay people are allowed to marry - you don't get to have stuff removed from your sight that you don't like to think about other people doing.

This 'scare' video is laughable.

Controversy!

I like this t-shirt. I like Buffalo, too, but realize it's as much for the flaws as the good things. I'd buy it but the shirt needs a different typeface or at least a bit of kerning.

Thanks Everyone!

I had a really, really good time at my birthday dinner. I appreciate you all so much, and hope you had a good time too. It meant a lot to me that you all come out and that everyone seemed to have fun.

This is my last quitting smoking post.

So, I more or less quit smoking about 12 days ago, except not really, I still had one in the morning and one at night. No longer. I'm going down to zero.

To throw my hat over the wall, I'm going to vow on the memory of my mother that I'm done. Mom, I promise that I am done smoking. This is it for me.

Hopefully I don't fuck it up, I'll feel super guilty after failing since I'm promising it this way.

Dinner Tonight

If you're coming to my birthday dinner tonight (details in previous post), just a warning that apparently they only take cash.

Let me know if that's a problem and we can work something out!

Their menu is here, by the way:

See you tonight!

Saturday?

Does anyone want to do anything tomorrow afternoon? I'm on my own while James is engaging in political machinations.

Watchmen is showing at Noon, which I haven't seen, but pretty much everyone else has. Or I'm up for lunch or pretty much anything other then sitting home on my birthday :)

Birthday Party!

My 30th birthday party is on Tuesday, April 7th at 7:30pm. We've reserved all of Europa Bistro ( map ) - you can come for dinner or just drinks, but all are welcome. Just give me or (e:James) a heads up if you're planning on coming, so we can make sure we've got a good count.

Hope to see you there :)
