cheap eats

So... I just had a delightful little picnic lunch from Globe Market. Yum yum. Fizzy lemonade and caprese sandwich and a spinach/strawberry salad... delish.

But after I had been rung up I saw this little book at checkout... I forget the exact title but it was something like "cheap eats in buffalo" and it was a little restaurant guide. I was in a hurry and couldn't get back in line to get it, but now I want it. Has anyone else ever seen this little book? Google was no help.

The next few weeks of work are going to suck. I wish I could just fast forward about a month. Or better yet, just skip it all and be on vacation. God, wouldn't that be fantastic...

6. On a tangent, I found this interesting eating guide for pilots, aptly named the "Pilot's Palate". It reviews places to eat "within reasonable flying distance of AGC, the Allgheny County Airport in West Mifflin, PA`" It has a small snippet on Buffalo. :)

Even though I have been to a bunch of places, I tend to suddenly forget what and where everything exists when posed with the question, "so, where do you want to go to eat?" tough, right? --Also helps to have something to figure out what you may be in the mood for!

joshua writes at 07:56:08 06/12/07 - Comment #19564: I'm surprised that someone actually wrote a book like that. Firstly, the city is bursting with cheap eats - its not like its rare. Secondly, for Buffalonians all of the good/cheap things are fairly well known, with possibly a few exceptions. Who did they write that book for?!?

Caprese is my favorite from Globe - I almost always order that or the thai chicken wrap. And they also brought back all the different flavors of Teany, which I was very happy about.

mrmike writes at 05:19:51 06/12/07 - Comment #19548: Only "cheap eats" I knew of was that faux snarky column in the Gusto each week. I remember seeing a booklet type thingy but never opened it. I was too taken with the "Beer Drinker's guide to Buffalo Bars." Sadly, out of print.
