Inauguration Day
It's easy to forget what happens in some other countries. Seeing what happens in Zimbabwe and Myanmar, it's a relief to me to live in one of the countries that's moved beyond institutionalizing personal or party power above all else.
So, cheers to all the Presidents, Washington through George W Bush, who have stepped aside and let the political process govern who gets power.
We're not a perfect country, but we do get many things right and this is one of them.

Buffalo Feed
Buffalo Feed:
This weekend I'll have time to add a few features like categorization and the ability to filter out sites you don't want to see, and it'll be even more useful.
I like to think of it as an inside-out (e:strip). It'll never be a community of it's own like (e:strip) is, but instead it's a way to look outward to almost 200 individual sites, each of which represents someone who is passionate about writing and sharing. There's actually a lot more bloggers in Buffalo then I ever would have thought.
Let me know what you think and if there's any way I can make it better. If you use Internet Explorer let me know if it looks broken and if so what version of IE you're running.
^_^
OK, back to work. Just wanted to drop a quick note here before the day really gets started.

Sucky Day!
December was 2 weeks of being mostly sick and semi-functional, a week of vacation, and a few days of holidays. Plus quitting smoking this week. No wonder one of my project's schedule has slipped a month, but still it's freaking me out. At least the big project is still on track.
Oh well, at least I have a nice co-worker who is covering my communication duties today.
Sorry, world, for spilling my crazy all over you today.

Michael Vick
It's a very weird intersection with fame. They've got like half a dozen people working with these dogs every day to get them adoptable. My brother says that most of them are actually fine, but they've got to go to extreme lengths to prove that they're harmless before they can be considered adoptable.

Quitting Smoking
I just need to get past to Friday and I'll be OK. My one smoking co-worker is off on vacation this week so this is my best chance to avoid temptation. We're each other's doom when it comes to quitting.
I quit for a few years, up until New Year's eve last year when I was a little drunk and had one, and then slowly over the couple months after that I ended up hooked again. So it's been a year now of on-again off-again smoking and I hate it so much.

Yesterday I just got so sick of all the negativity. And the over-positivity. I feel bad for Obama, because I don't think he is ever going to be able to live up to the ridiculous expectations people have. You'd think he's the second coming of christ, but god... he's just a man. I do not envy him and what he's just walked into. I like the guy. I do. But in full disclosure, I did not vote for him, and do not think he's the messiah. BUT- he is our president and I support him and truly wish him all the best. I really believe he wants what's right for the country, and I hope he can get even some of it done.
The things I got sick of yesterday were the endless bush-bashing (i mean please, can we just put that all behind us now) and the pissing and moaning of the non-obamaniacs acting like the world is going to hell in a handbasket now. Ok, your guy didn't win. Nothing you can do about it now, so just STFU, and support the president.
blargh. enough ranting. sorry.
