Brandy is in town for the weekend. Friday night we went to Soul Night at Milkie's. Honestly, I had an amazing time. Soul music is a truly wonderful thing. I danced my butt off!

The next day, we met at Nektar for breakfast... i got a sweet crepe. the food was awesome. Seems like the merger with Ambrosia went well.

I'm happy Daniel and Brandy seem to really be working out :) After Nectar, we hung out with Sandy at her shop down the street, and then headed down to the festival. we met Daniel after he got his haircut. I was actually pretty tired-grumpy. i think i was way over stimulated... I had some fun none the less. i feel bad that most of the time i spent with brandy was me being quiet/grumpy. i just didn't have it in me to be bright and energetic... we got to dance, though! so that was fun.

later, we went to wegmans and brought back some sushi and wine and goodies to feast upon. i seemed to perk up with not so sweet foods. after a full day spent with Amanda, Brandy, Daniel and Sandy, I was ready to head home. We never ended up playing the board games amanda brought.

I rested at home for a bit, convinced i was going to go to sleep, but got a last minute invite to (e:paul) and (e:terry)'s house. The wedding shower was man men themed? so i had to dress up. i wasn't as dressy as everyone else, but i think i pulled it off.

I wish i'd taken more photos. We ended up having a spank-off, or something? haha... i guess it was to see which was most painful... the copper pan, the wooden spoon, or the woden fork. I'm always kind of amazed at the shenanigans i find myself in the middle of. Not that i'm complaining..!

Very fun times indeed.

I could not get to sleep last night. I think i should have gone home... i had to go home to get proper shoes anyways. shoulda coulda woulda! :P

i had a great day today. i ended up working the lunch shift, then went to the bank. most of the rent is there already, so that's gonna be good. i also had a talk with april about money... seems like things will sort themselves out like i thought.

i'd like to complain less.

After that, Stevie and Michael picked me up after they left the burchfield penney. We went for dinner at Amy's Place. I got the biff sandwich and we all split veggie wet shoes. they both got lentil berry sandwiches... everything was so good! i had a lot of liquid... coffee, water, cream soda... i've peed a lot today. my tonsils were feeling swollen last night and earlier but now i feel fine?

We were having conversations about all of these transitions and such, and then stevie discovered my coffee cup and turned it towards me. what a coincidence... my life is just one big coincidence. a grand synchronized dance.
it really is weird how many seem to be happening.

we tried to find a book store to go to after, but everything was closed early? We ended up going to sweet_ness 7 for desert drinks and ended up playing a really fun game of scrabble. Soon after arriving, the storm began. it was kind of magical, the way the air felt, the music, the sound of the thunder and rain, the dim lighting, the feeling of closeness with my friends... I live for those small moments of magic. They make me feel human again.

Brandy is coming, soon. She comes the 6 - 10? of june. I can't wait to have her near again. We always resume right where we left off. Much fun will be had. If possible, i will take her to that soul night event. i had an unbelievable amount of fun the last time i went. i have to go to this one. i missed the other ones.

when i got home, i sat on the porch, watching the storm. it was nice.

so last i ended up cooking a big dinner for friends. Tanya, her boyfriend James Dean, Jens, and Rita all came over. I made a big ol' posta dish with peppers, mushrooms, onions, garlic, and some seasonings in this poblano alfredo. It was so. so. good. i didn't think it would be enough, so i decided to make another dish with TVP, sweet potato, and lentils, which also turned out great. they all brought beer and wine, and Rita brought this awesome feta apple salad. Michael joined us later.

I can't believe i didn't get a single photo of the evening. I had such a great night, and everyone made it a good time.

later, after everyone had left, i cleaned up and went for a really nice wal up and down norwood to either end. then i went down summer for a bit before turning around once it had gotten rainy enough.

the air was the perfect temperature and the right amount of moist and silky. I felt special but without anyone there to make me feel that way and I really liked it. I felt good again. It was one of those moments where you feel like everything is in it's right place and you just don't worry about a thing.

went out to coffee today with someone i have not seen in ages! She just had a baby in january, and now he's all alert and cute... I wish i would have gotten a photo. I wanted to hold him forever.

I really would like children one day. :( I wonder if it'll ever happen?
