The Steer Restaurant

Tried to go to Pho 99 for dinner last night but it was closed so we went to the Steer. I had never been there for dinner. By the sign on the outside that said, steaks, ribs, fresh seafood and the name Steer, I got the idea that it was a steakhouse.

However, the menu inside has no steak or ribs but instead a bunch of tasty small size tapas style foods. Thats a seriously change.

I mean it tasted delicious and I would totally go back but it was definitely not filling like the steak I wanted ever the whole day of hiking. I had the lamb burger, the calamari in lime chili sauce (amazing) and the fig proscuitto pizza.



Update: They own Dug's Dive and the Lake Effect Diner too Dug's Dive is definitely one of my favorites in town. I heard this year it will be open year round.

Pear Time

The wind blew all the pears down. I am kind of sad because they weren't ripe yet and because they have the stupid blight. Luckily, the blight is only on the skin and the pears will ripen soon enough even off the tree.

Just when I thought I had eaten everything

My chinese coworker says he is bringing in chinese squash soup. At first I figured it was just a name for the type of soup but with squash I would recognize so I asked him for some pictures from this site

They are both squashed I have never seen. I makes me wonder what else is out there. He said he didn't know english names for them.

Chris' NY Sandwich Co Lunch Special

No exaggeration, this was definately the best lunch I have eaten in my entire life.

It was two giant, panko encrusted chicken breasts on salad greens topped with layer after layer of yellow and red tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and proscuito with a balsamic and Basil vinigrette.

This is why cheap food is disgusting

I would rather pay $3.50 for a dozen eggs local, cage free eggs and eat less of them, than pay $.99 and have them be sick and disgusting for me and the birds

La Dolce Vita Lunch

(e:mike), (e:terry) and I went to La Dolce Vita for lunch. It was amazing and quite reasonably priced. I got the half pannini and soup special for $7.

Strange midnight meals

I stayed late at work to complete a component for my new system. When I got home there was nothing much to eat so I tried to make something. I am of the opinion anything can be made tasty with with the additional of blueberries.
