Army Navy Surplus - Air Tent

We headed out to the army navy surplus stores today. At the one off exchange street by the lark in district they had those air tents I always wanted. I still don't know how you get in it though unless you somehow hoist it up from inside.

Looking crazy in my new orange pants

I tried on all of my neon color stuff at once and then (e:terry) snapped the pic while I was looking up so it looks like my eyes are rolling back in my head.

Strangely, I bought three pairs of pants at H&M, all the same size, style, everything and only 1 pair fits. So much for consistency.

Skinny Ties Suck

I am not a big fan of skinny ties. They have come and gone more than once in my own lifetime and I road both times out with the fatter ties. I was looking through some old pics today and saw this picture of my father and uncle (twins) with skinny ties back in his early teens sometime back in the 50s I think. I didn't realize skinny ties went back that far.

I guess the pendulum kept going back and forth. I would be happy if it stayed at around 3.5-4" wide. I researched a bit and found skinny-neckties.com which explains a little about it. The wikipedia article on neckties goes into a lot more detail.

Sweet Helmets

They had a massive armor exhibit at the met. It was so neat to see all the differences in helmets. Only one of hundreds of body suits gad that protrusion. Wonder what it says about the owner? I would think you wouldn't want to make a target out of it by drawing attention to it.
