People:
1. How did you find out about/why did you become of estrip?
I found out from you, Paul. Y'all were like do it... so I did.

2. How "out" are you about having a publicly accessible online journal. Do your friends know? Does your family know? Do your co-workers know? Does your boss know? Do you use your real name? Do you use your real photo?
I use my name but I try to keep my entire name out. This identity is more for my friends than my family. I try to cater to both.

3. How many epeeps have you met real life? Scores of them. Paul, Matthew, terry, mike, southernyankee, lilho, hodown, flacidness, metaal peter, keith, jacksmack, joshua, jason, hahaha soyeon, Shawn and lots more recently

4. How has estrip changed the way that you meet people, on and/or off line? It hasn't so much. I meant... pmt, y'all the ones I was always trying to trek down. I have your marriage certificate from your second wedding somewhere.

5. How has estrip affected you love life?
I would say, all in all, e-strip has little to do with my sex life but I love a few of the members... in a platonic sort of way. There was that dude getting me to make out with him my last night in buffalo. That was fun... so was an (e:strip) inspired occurrence.

6. How many of your friends have joined estrip because of your influence? I would guess more that 2... but how many stayed?

7. Are you from Buffalo/do you live in Buffalo?
No and No. You know the answers to that, p.

Equipment:
1. What type of hardware or software purchases have you made as a result of using estrip? firefox

2. Have you used the mobile version of estrip? Why or why not? I've tried but my phone aint really cut out for that.

Lifestyle:
1. In what way has estrip changed your Internet surfings habits? Describe the amount of time you spend on estrip, when you use it and about how long? It's something to check in with, for matt's photo's, people's stories and so on. it is a little depressing now that I'm not living in B-lo.

1a. How many journals do you usually read per day? I can't say. It depends on the day, week... where I'm at, what I'm doing... so on.

2. In what ways has estrip changed the way you perceive your local community?
makes in more permanent and less personal... I'd say because writing has a permanence that spoken words do not.... and voice has a intimacy that written words do not.
3. How has journaling about your life affected the way you spend your free time?
i've written a shitload but i couldn't imagine a bettter way to chase on time.
4. Has estrip changed your living situation in any way?
nope... btu i did give my bed to a estripper
5. Do you find that you mediate/document more of your experiences now that you share them with others?
lil bit but that was already going on silly goose. (I am a videomaker after all.
6. Has publishing on estrip affected the way that write?
I don't know.i like to think so. i like writing here. it's no pressure.
7. Do you have other online journals? If so, with what service and has estrip affected your usage of that journal? myspace and friendster before that. i think of e-strip as my blog and myspace as a music/friend network.

8. Have you ever gotten in trouble for using estrip at work?
no way, José.
9. If you have stopped using estrip, why? i've been busy lately... moving around. but look i'm in a place now

I'm leaving B-lo tomorrow. I went to Providence and Brooklyn for a while and returned today. Now one more Wednesday night at the pink and then a 17 hour greyhound ride.

The Kindness of Strangers

Does anyone have a truck? I need help today or tonight, if possible.

but speaking of the kindness of strangers...
last night while checking out at Walgreen's, I came up short on cash. The guy behind me bought my ciggs for me. The same thing at the same place happened a week ago. Those men sure were kind. Goes to defy the ol' rude Yankee stereotype. and that my friends goes to show you can't buy into that stereotype shit. I've been saying it for years but my home place down yonder still gets knocked on all the time with stereotypes.

Whoever you are, I have always depended on the kindness of strangers.

and so... after getting drunk and then drinking an entire bottle of Jägermeister at 5 in the morning, I didn't make the truck ride to Georgia. Now I'm laying in my stark apartment necked. I'm sure my family hates me right now. I think Buffalo loves me though.

freaked out

My sister called this morning and told me my Grandma , MawMaw, fell and broke her hip. When I was a young teen my Granny fell and broke her hip. Then Granny went to live with some relatives in NC. then they put her in a home so she came back to Georgia and stayed in a home there. Then she had a stroke and died when I was 16. So I'm all freaked out. My Mawmaw is only 78 and my Granny was 86 when she died. Whatever, I love Mawmaw. I'm all worried. My Dad says she's in good hands. I just don't know.

"lackawanna five"

I just got back from a screening at hallwalls. A filmmaker named Lynn Hershman is making a movie about Steve and his case. Somebody brought up the lackawanna five and that made me wonder. Who were the Lackawanna five? What exactly were they charged with? What was the evidence against them? When were they arrested? What was their economic stance and so on....
