Voluntary Mind Control

I wonder if relying on the boys to tell me what to read could lead to being brainwashed. Sounds like Paul's cup of tea. Maybe I've fallen into his manipulative trap.

Thursday Fun

We went to Thursday at the Square and then to Prespa for a bit. I got to meet another epeep in person. I like it when the virtual world meets the real world - especially when there are drinks, really good pizza, and cheesecake involved. Thanks Zack.

Voicemail message. "Hi Rachel, I have an extra ticket to see David Bowie on Tuesday. The seats are in ROW G."

Hmm.. Let me think about this for a nanosecond.

I stare at the giant poster of a man with two different eye colors. Downstairs my teenage brother blares Bowie on my parents' stereo.

Those nights forever instilled a love for Bowie in my heart(and I suspect my sister's). The Laughing Gnome still reminds me of being a little girl with a big brother who always enjoyed having a good chuckle.

His voice resonated through Shea's like nothing I've ever heard live. For 2 hours he played a set that included songs from the seventies through the present. My favorite hightlight - when Gail Ann Dorsey put a whole new spin on the Freddy Mercury vocals in Under Pressure.

Definitely a night to remember.

Look Outside

It's so beautiful out and I'm stuck inside, not even accomplishing anything. Today isn't a day to be productive. It should be spent laying in the grass. Alas...

Electronic Voting - Be Frightened

I received this email from a former co-worker yesterday.

"Apparently there is only one company in the US that is certified to inspect
and approve electronic voting hardware (which is how >50 million people will
vote in November)."

The company is Wyle Labs, a subcontractor that my company has been forced to work with. They are the MOST INCOMPETENT people with whom I have ever interacted. They are responsible for providing us with data for some of our Navy projects, and have f**d it up every single time. Sometimes they give us the wrong data format (even though we've worked with them for 3 years), sometimes they give us data months late, and in one recent experience, the IT person could not understand how to place files on our ftp site.

For more info on electronic voting, check out this link

Random Thoughts For Today

Silly stuff-
I had an argument with someone over art bombs. Maybe some of you can guess who it was. What is the problem??? How can you be anti art bomb? Why don't you argue with people about real bombs?

Political stuff-
What is the point of having a 9/11 commission interview without any kind of formal record? Enough said.

And finally-
I'm leaving for California today. I hope some of you will take care of my Desi for me while I'm gone.

Fahrenheit 9/11 Opens June 25

Anyone want to go??

Hey Everyone...

As you may have heard by now, we finally have a distributor in America for "Fahrenheit 9/11." Actually, two of them! Lions Gate Films and IFC Films have agreed to aggressively distribute "Fahrenheit 9/11" in theaters all across the country beginning three weeks from today on Friday, June 25th. We are, needless to say, extremely grateful for their courage (trust me, no matter what the potential box office may be, anyone who has considered taking on this distribution job has also met with a lot of pressure NOT to do it in the past month).

They will open it on a record number of screens for a documentary. There is no stopping it now!

These are great distributors. Jon Feltheimer, the man who runs Lions Gate, was the executive in charge of the company that produced my television series, "TV Nation." And the people at IFC (which owned Bravo) were the same people responsible for funding and broadcasting my other series, "The Awful Truth." So we are in very good hands.

(And, as an added bonus, Lions Gate is a Canadian company. Once again, the Canadians to the rescue! It was also a Canadian company, Salter Street Films, that produced "Bowling for Columbine." I know, it's kinda sad we have to keep depending on our good neighbors to the north. But maybe this is the year we give 'em their Stanley Cup back.)

There's a lot more to tell you -- and I will write to you again over the next few days. I'm in the mood to spill some beans, much to the consternation of certain people. Oh well!

Also, I have posted the trailer for "Fahrenheit 9/11" so that you can get your first glimpse at scenes from the movie--you can check it out at

Thanks for all your wonderful letters of support -- they have meant a great deal to us.

Save the date -- June 25! It's the first summer film where the special effects will be real...

Yours truly,
M-I-C (see ya real soon!)
K-E-Y (why? because they can't kill this
friggin' movie!)

P.S. For our fans in the rest of the world, don't worry -- you already have distributors. And most of you will also be able to see it this summer! Thanks.
