move date is scheduled for july 1 or so - everything is quite crazy for now - i still don't have a job OR apartment!
my girlfriend is attending UB... so here we come... we are moving from New Paltz, NY. I guess that since I'm moving from such a liberal town to elsewhere i'm wondering if i'm going to be in for a shock with buffalo... i'm excited for it yet still cautious... i guess time will tell, eh?
It's hard to say if you would like Buffalo without knowing what you like.
Buffalo is a city with character. It reminds me of an aging movie star down on her luck hoping to make a comeback.
There's lots of good restaurants in the Buffalo area. And, if (e:peeps) are to be believed, there are plenty of opportunities for partying.
Buffalo has a very good art museum and a symphony orchestra. It also has a couple of professional sport teams.
One day, my wife, (e:leetee) and I were driving through Buffalo on the way to Hamilton, ON (which incidentially is the Buffalo of Ontario) and she said "ha ha ha we could always move to Buffalo" in a sarcastic way. And much to her surprise and mine, we moved here a couple of years later after doing lots of research.
We really like living in Buffalo but it's not a city for everyone. But then, no city is.
Where you moving from?
If you don't mind a bit of cold.. and i don't mean (e:lilho)'s attitude towards her hometown, then i think you will do just fine.
Welcome to (e:strip)!
