And one of the guys at work is Egyptian, and today we were chatting and he said he knows some heiroglyphics, and he started drawing on the board... did this whole big fancy thing... he said 'when you see it in a cartouche like this, that means it's the name of a king or a queen'. I said 'cool, is that your name?' and he said 'no- it's yours!' (I said "oh- is the lion an L?" he looked at me like a dummy and said it's not quite that simple. bahaha.)
:D

Is it just me, or does anyone else ever sort of forget that Egypt is in Africa? I mean, of course it is... but Baher (the guy at work) was just joking about even though technically he is, he can't really call himself African-American.
I love the shape of that bird. Clean, sharp and trousered.
wait did you actually climb through the pyramids? if so then i'm just going to die with jealousy. seriously.
Is it just me, or does that Wanted guy look like (e:paul) with glasses and a stache? :-D
yup. I blame Indian Jones for the whole adventure archeology thing when I was younger. Then Lara Croft took over in my early college years. The pyramids are way cool to climb through, when you're not being harrassed by camel boys and knick knack merchants every other heart beat.
amazing that i was just reading a book about heiroglyphs and how ancient egyptians were more connected with the right part of their brain - the part that is more artistic and picture orientated - as opposed to modern writing is left brained and more word orientated...
just th ought i'd share
