Women Against Bush

A new kind of polictical action committee dedicated to ousting George W.

WANTED: Fun, fashionable, fed-up women whose bras are too attractive to burn. Prefer brunching to brow-beating, but willing to throw their cocktails in the face of oppression, sexism and the lies that make up "compassionate conservatism."
Pull up a stool, we're the women you've been looking for.
"Bush is OUT in 2004!"

Call me High Maintenance, but I demand a lot more from my President!
This administration has been abominable as far as women's interests are concerned. Join us in Brunching Against Bush, Wine Against Bush and for the really outrageous - Wax Away Bush!! We're looking to get women more involved in this election and thereby ensure that our beautiful voices are heard!

Out of The Blu

Someone unexpectedly called me today and it made me rethink some things. Things similar to Hodown's thoughts. The man. And the choices we make.

It also inspired me to call someone else from out of nowhere. For a completely different purpose, but no matter. If someone for whom I have the utmost respect feels comfortable calling me at work, months after our last encounter, then there's no reason for me to restrain myself. Sometimes the unexpected is what makes life worth living.

Green Party Meet-Up

All those interested in Paul's idea of promoting a local Green Party candidate should consider getting involved in the Green Party Meet-Up at . Currently there are only 3 members for the Buffalo chapter, and there is no host.

Meetup is a free service that organizes local gatherings about anything, anywhere.
A host is a Meetup attendee just like you. The only difference is that they've agreed to help people find each other at the Meetup. They might have printed out a sign and put it on a tabletop. Perhaps they came bearing nametags and a magic marker. Hopefully they've let the venue's management know that you're all coming there to Meetup.

Try This Now!

1)Go to www.Google.com.
2) Type in (but don't hit enter): "weapons of mass destruction".
3) Hit the "I'm feeling lucky" button instead of the normal "Google
search" button.
4) READ CAREFULLY what appears to be a normal ERROR message.
Make sure you read the whole error message. Someone at Google
apparently has a sense of humor.

Try this soon, before someone at Google fixes it!

In Need of Good Reading Materials

I went to the Terry Library this evening, but alas, it was closed. I suppose I'll just have to continue reading my vast collection of right-wing literature until someone can mold my mind otherwise.

Independent Media Discussion

Bob McChesney is coming to Buffalo to further that effort and all those
who understand the significant connections between an independent media
and authentic democracy will want to hear what he has to say. Because
media are so crucial to the work done in so many areas of progressive
politics, media reform deserves to be everyone's "second issue." Let's
get the media reform campaign in Western New York off to a good start by
generating a big turnout for this event...

Media Critic and Author Robert McChesney will be speaking at Buff State
on Tuesday March 30th @ 7:30 PM in the Bulger Communication Center
North Lecture Hall. Admission is free -- donations to support the Buffalo
Coalition for Progressive Media (BCPM) will be accepted. The event is
sponsored by the Niagara University Communication Studies Department, the
Buffalo State College Communication Dept and the BCPM. Campus guests
can park in any student or faculty parking spot -- parking enforcement
will be suspended for this event.

McChesney is author of eight books including "Corporate Media and the
Threat to Democracy," "Rich Media Poor Democracy: Communication Politics
in Dubious Times," and "Our Media Not Theirs: The Democratic Struggle
Against Corporate Media."
