Bored

So what to chat about? Ponder, ponder, ponder... I think all war should end, and everybody should get along. How typical is that, in a race that will shoot someone for driving poorly, we ask for world peace. I can't stand it. Who are we trying to fool with our notions of peace, war is in our nature. Sometimes I try to be optimistic, but it always falls through. Optimism is fantasy, pessimism is reality. I am a realist. A tired realist. Good night everyone, be glad you can sleep at night.

A Favorite Poem( one of many )

She was a Phantom of delight

She was a Phantom of delight
When first she gleam'd upon my sight;
A lovely Apparition, sent
To be a moment's ornament:
Her eyes as stars of twilight fair;
Like twilight's, too, her dusky hair;
But all things else about her drawn
From May-time and the cheerful dawn;
A dancing shape, an image gay,
To haunt, to startle, and waylay.

I saw her upon nearer view,
A Spirit, yet a Woman too!
Her household motions light and free,
And steps of virgin liberty;
A countenance in which did meet
Sweet records, promises as sweet;
A creature not too bright or good
For human nature's daily food,
For transient sorrows, simple wiles,
Praise, blame, love, kisses, tears, and smiles.

And now I see with eye serene
The very pulse of the machine;
A being breathing thoughtful breath,
A traveller between life and death:
The reason firm, the temperate will,
Endurance, foresight, strength, and skill;
A perfect Woman, nobly plann'd
To warn, to comfort, and command;
And yet a Spirit still, and bright
With something of an angel light.

~ W. Wordsworth

I have read two different endings to this poem, this is the older version. The new version ends with " Something of angelic light" it's frustrating because who gives publishers the right to just change things. The "angelic light" ending loses the natural flow, it's choppy. And this is just a poem, imagine what happens to important literature, like the Bible.

The Saddest

Of all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these: It might have been!- John Greenleaf Whittier

A personal statement, a silly quote, or a tired old line. When I know, you'll know.

Sad Memories &

Every time I open this page, for some reason the picture of Coffee & is always on the top of the screen. I loved that place. My first day of work on Elmwood, was the same day they put the big cup on the front of the building. Now I didn't know the gentleman(owner) who lived upstairs. But I knew Nikki, she was everyone's favorite coffee slinging Granny. I liked it there so much that I had to find a drink for me, since I don't care much for coffee. Luckily for me the Chai revolution was on, and seeing that I'm not a health nut, I opted for the Milkshake. "Whipped cream?" yes. Ever since the arson, Elmwood,(to me)just isn't the same. So it seems fitting that I am leaving my Elmwood workplace. My patience has grown thin, and my hiding place has gone away. Oh well, " To everything turn, turn, turn..."

What people want

[inlink]aydenrogerscry,21[/inlink] In response to this, I simply say "People want what they cannot have", The idea of Good guys and Bad guys, could simply be put as attainable and unattainable. Girls don't want to be treated like shit, they just want the "Bad" guys to be "Good"guys. I'm sure most of us were blinded by what we considered love. Dreamed about the what ifs, just wished this person could see how wonderful we are, and how they cannot live without us. The amusing thing is, that they most likely are in the situation with someone else. Basically, IT'S NOT LOVE. We only want acceptance, validation. We walk around with blinders on, all around you there are people who are willing to validate you. To truly love you, but you'll never see them, they're like shadows and "He or She" is the Sun. The sad thing is, they will never be as "Good" as you make them out to be, never live up to the expectation. The longing is more addictive than the outcome, that's why "crushes" put things off for so long. We'd rather leave the door open a crack, than to close it or walk through. We control the longing, if we choose it'll never end. Our love is in the longing, not the one we pine for. So I say, Love yourself that's where it all starts, how can anybody love you if you don't. And love shouldn't be fought for, it should be given equally, Why should you give love and fight for some in return?

To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance~ Oscar Wilde

Fantasy

We all live in a fantasy world. Brought up on Faerie Tales and television, we actually believe that there's always a happy ending. We believe that if you try hard enough anythings possible, even in matters of the heart. No I honestly believe job wise if you try hard enough you can be pretty much anything ( rock stars and movie stars excluded ). That's why I can't watch these sappy romantic comedies, or romance movies period. They're just sentimental crap, as realistic as Hellboy. In the movie world Guy meets Girl, Girl doesn't like guy, guy spends all his time trying to win the Girl, Girl realizes she was wrong, happily ever after. Real world, Guy meets Girl, Girl doesn't like Guy, Guy spends all his time trying to win the Girl, Girl gets nervous, gets restraining order, Guy ends up bitter and alone. You can win a game, or fight for a position at work, but you cannot win something that's not out there to be won.
And how come most romantic comedies deal with infidelity. It's at the heart of all of these movies, You've Got Mail, 13 Going on 30, The Wedding Planer, My Best Friends Wedding, I could go on believe me. But in each of these movies a relationship is ended so the main characters can be happy. The irony is that women seem to love this crap! But I'm sure my wife wouldn't be to happy if I left her for "The Wedding Planner". They should make a movie based on the other persons perspective, the girl or guy who loses everything, so Julia Roberts character can be happy. They always skip over the 'victom'.
I know you're thinking " There only movies ", but there not, people tend to base the aspects of there life ( like relationships ) on what they think the other half wants. So a lot of guys (Who are desperatly trying to understand women), look to this sentimental crap for answers,for "What do women want?" but it's just fantasy. You're better off watching Monty Python to find the Holy Grail.

feeling a bit randy

I don't get it, if pretending to "moon" somebody is so terribly offensive, then why show it a hundred times on the news. So the people watching the game, of course, were "visually attacked" by Moss, but now everybody has seen it. Next time I hope he really moons the crowd. Now that would be something worth paying a fine for. I mean, if you have to "do the time", you might as well "do the crime" not just pretend. So my opinion, his actions were immature, childish, rude, and over the top. I hate all this dancing and celebration anyway, but come on, people need to get over themselves, how offended could you really be.
