The Ugliest Tree Infection I Ever Saw
Category: elmwood

This tree located slightly north from the North East side of the Summer and Ellwood intersection has the creepiest infection I have ever seen. It was hard to get a good picture because of the lighting but you can still tell how abnormal it is.

My New Certificate Authority
Category: computers
If you want a free SSL cert I can make one for you but the machines that access it will need to trust my certificate authority by accepting the following cert Then just send me the csr.

If you don't know what this means, then you don't need one. For my own reference later.

openssl x509 -req -in new_request.csr -CA /etc/pki/CA/certs/ca_estrip.biz.crt -CAkey /etc/pki/CA/private/ca_estrip.biz.key -CAcreateserial -out new_request.crt -days 3000

paul - 11/10/13 14:53
Okay, send me your csr, lol.
mike - 11/10/13 12:40
I don't now what it is but I WANT ONE!

LVM - Moving empty space from one logical volume to another
Category: server
I resized the logical volumes for the site VM on KVM to steal some size from home and add it to root. Its actually really simple. It was all able to be done while the server was online. Go LVM.

//unmount home
umount /home

//check file system
e2fsck -f /dev/vg_estrip/lv_home 35G

//reduce home to total size of 35G
lvreduce -L 35G /dev/vg_estrip/lv_home

//remount home and check files
mount /home

//extend root by adding 50GB
lvextend -L+50G /dev/vg_estrip/lv_root

//resize fs to take up the 50GB
resize2fs /dev/vg_estrip/lv_root

paul - 11/10/13 18:06
Centos and ext4.

Thanks for posting this. I've successfully enlarged logical volumes but I've not been able to shrink a logical volume (and file system) successfully. I assume you are running fedora or centos? What file system are you using?
