ramen madness
Category: food
One thing I will really miss about this vacation is the unbelievable variety of restaurants. I can't wait for the noodle bar to open on elmwood.

At the ramen restaurant called Ebisu I got a ramen bowl with octopus, shrimp, pork, veggies, beef, and quail eggs. We also got edamame and vegetable tempura.

They are not open. I wrote to them and they replied

"Thank you for your interest in NoNoo's opening date. We are not open yet but will be soon. We are just waiting for city and county inspections before we can. Please check the website (nonooramen.com) or our facebook page for updates, Thank you."
tinypliny - 12/03/11 19:06
I think they are open: :::link:::

I wonder if the ramen place on Elmwood is already open...

I have heard there is a lot of food Variety in Buffalo... But I mean it won't be as much as a place that is made for people to Visit.... Now I do like Buffalo but as I think about the couple of Cities I've been to....Again Visit not live really I think the big difference is that Buffalo needs the people.... Like there is a rumor that The Bills will move to Toronto that is why they play the games over there.... Ralph Wilson Stadium needs lots of money to be made better or fixed up..... No it should be on the water front with Parking above and below ground and a roof that opens like they planned 20 years ago.... Still have no Idea why that never happened..... But there is a part of me that thinks what ever problems this city has if we had the people the taxes would make a lot of those problems (no money ones at least not the corruption ones) go away......

Artomat
Category: vegas
What looks like an old style cigarette machine is actually an art vendomat. I think this is an awesome idea. More places should have these.

The Palms Ghostbar - I am hating clubs
Category: vegas
I think I just don't like clubs. Its all about being fancy and sitting and posing. I would much rather be dancing. At the ghostbar at the palms they don't even have a dancefloor. Its basically a lounge with thumping dance music that you sit too. Except all the seats inside were reserved and we had to sit out in the cold.

Sarah got us on the list so entrance for her was free. (e:terry) and I paid $15 each. If I was a straight guy looking for chicks that paid $15-20 to get it I would have been so pissed because no one was there. The whole point of free lafies night is that it is like shooting fish in a barrel, right? Thats why guys pay cover. Then it was $48 for three vodka red bulls.

If they had dancing I might have felt different. The service was way over the top. Some Guy guided me to the bathroom and then the bathroom helper did some tricks spinning towels to me in the air. I really don't like interacting with bathrrom.staff

In fact I hate that they exist. But when they make it into some sort of sporty catch game I hate it even more. To make it worse I had no change, just a $20 and $100. Despite his bucket being pre decorated with $5 bills there was no way I was upping to $20 and I felt weird asking for change so he got nothing. The craziest part they have a Plexiglases floorhole where you can look down 50+ floors. Sadly it was all scratched up.

Afterwrads we headed to the playboy club. It was swanky, the bunnies were hot bit it was totally empty. We were the only people. Instead of dropping another $100 on drinks we headed home.

At least I got to wear.my ridiculous new yellow pants. $15 at the Levis store on black Friday.

The yellow pants are hot. I'm digging them on you.
vincent - 12/01/11 00:01
What hotel were those shots taken in? It can't be the Rio?
I still like the Ghost bar even though you're pretty much right about the setup. I just like to hang out and overlook the view as you obviously did. But then again I'm not out to get laid by any stretch of the imagination.

It's kind of good and bad to see that not much has changed out there in 2 years, the last time I was out there.

Yes, I do like the pants!
tinypliny - 11/30/11 15:38
Those trousers are ridiculous. :) Are they corduroy? Might go well with those yellow shoes you don't wear.
heidi - 11/29/11 21:52
(e:terry), did you get new shoes? I thought you wanted brown ones?
heidi - 11/29/11 21:46
I love the first pic but I want to see the other two photos of that moment :-)
libertad - 11/29/11 21:43
I HATE bathroom attendants. I just feel so uncomfortable and I it feel so demeaning. Strangely, they were at the University of Havana and would bring you a bucket of water so you could flush the toilet. I really had no idea how much to give them, not knowing what was customary.

(e:lilho) looks hot next to that pair of dirty socks on the floor.

Thanksgiving weekend is a bad weekend when it comes to partying in Vegas. That's why I was stressing the whole sunrise walk when it's a ghost town, to take advantage of the circumstances.

Not that I think the clubs are worth going to anyway...bunch of hype and status-seekers from my vantage point. While I'm not much of a clubber, I prefer the lounge setup, but in places like Vegas it's ruined by all the peacocks shitting all over the decor.

Love that first pic
mike - 11/29/11 00:59
you guys look so ready to party! Sorry it wasn't an awesome club but I'm sure you guys made it awesome in your own way!
flacidness - 11/28/11 23:34
Yuck I hate those kind of clubs. Why would they charge a cover and noone was there? I LOVE those pants paul they are so hot.

Sterling Buffet
Category: food
This was definately the most extravagant eating experience I have ever had. The food was over the top as well as the service. The meal was all you can eat oysters, caviar, champagne, lobster, crab, Lamb, fruits and desserts, charcuterie, filet, pork, chicken, sushi, etc. It was amazing.

Piranah in las vegas sucks
Category: clubs
I would rather go to Marcellas any day. It is super pretentious and I just got scammed in some shots scheme.

tinypliny - 12/01/11 18:43
Yeah, what is a shots scheme - like someone schemed to kill you with shots and succeeded and you became... a zombie in yellow trousers?
flacidness - 11/27/11 23:12
Is that a club?
heidi - 11/27/11 21:28
What's a shots scheme?
