BJ's
Category: food
No, despite its name and upside triangle logo, it is not a gay bar. It is, however, a very delicious chain restaurant and brewery out west. I wish we had them in NY. The fried artichoke heart appetizer is the best appetizer I have ever had. It is the perfect blend of crispy outside and soft inside. We ate there 4 times between LA and Vegas because it was so good. They even have a gluten free menu.

Mini Pies
Category: food
Cookies gave way to cupcakes. Cupcakes gave way to macaroons and now, as (e:hodown) said, macaroons are being moved over to make room for mini pies. How cute are those little lemon marengue ones.

Driscoll Progeny at a wedding
Category: weddings
The wedding was beautiful. They were definately perfect for each other. In fact, the friends of both even quoted letters they had written about each other when they first met.

Are they famous: :::link:::

PS: those two look like they stepped off frames of a Hollywood rom-com! Terry has an impossibly good-looking family. Are some of them in the movies? :)
paul - 12/04/11 17:31
Those are the descandants of the Driscoll family and they are at a wedding for one of them.
tinypliny - 12/04/11 17:23
What is a "Driscoll Progeny"? And I did google it. Your post is the first hit.

Did you mean to say the cute couple will have droll progeny? :)

ramen madness
Category: food
One thing I will really miss about this vacation is the unbelievable variety of restaurants. I can't wait for the noodle bar to open on elmwood.

At the ramen restaurant called Ebisu I got a ramen bowl with octopus, shrimp, pork, veggies, beef, and quail eggs. We also got edamame and vegetable tempura.

tinypliny - 12/09/11 12:06
They are not open. I wrote to them and they replied

"Thank you for your interest in NoNoo's opening date. We are not open yet but will be soon. We are just waiting for city and county inspections before we can. Please check the website (nonooramen.com) or our facebook page for updates, Thank you."
tinypliny - 12/03/11 19:06
I think they are open: :::link:::
tinypliny - 12/03/11 19:04
I wonder if the ramen place on Elmwood is already open...

I have heard there is a lot of food Variety in Buffalo... But I mean it won't be as much as a place that is made for people to Visit.... Now I do like Buffalo but as I think about the couple of Cities I've been to....Again Visit not live really I think the big difference is that Buffalo needs the people.... Like there is a rumor that The Bills will move to Toronto that is why they play the games over there.... Ralph Wilson Stadium needs lots of money to be made better or fixed up..... No it should be on the water front with Parking above and below ground and a roof that opens like they planned 20 years ago.... Still have no Idea why that never happened..... But there is a part of me that thinks what ever problems this city has if we had the people the taxes would make a lot of those problems (no money ones at least not the corruption ones) go away......
lilho - 12/03/11 16:09
and the lazy forever...
lilho - 12/03/11 16:09
i miss you, and the food. and terry.

Artomat
Category: vegas
What looks like an old style cigarette machine is actually an art vendomat. I think this is an awesome idea. More places should have these.
