Food Shopping
So there are many different ways to shop for food. Some people get meat packages from meat places. Some people shop at multiple places in the same day to get their food. I do the getting what is on sale thing. I hardly ever use coupons. 1st you have to get them. 2nd with the savings often times the knock offs are still cheaper.

Price Rite:
It is great for when I'm out of food. It is also great when I buy certain things I like there like frozen pies and such. Well not to mention that they are close. But often times they lack selection. What I mean is that they have a brand of food but don't have all the different verities with in that food.

Tops:
Yes I admit I like them. I go there when stuff I like is on sale. I also like the lay out of the store. I also like the layout of the ads. It also helps that they sell my bus passes. I used to pay bills there. Plus they sell tickets there.

Wegmans:

I do admit that their layout is kinda goofy. What is all that stuff in the middle of the store. But what I like is that to get to the frozen section you don't have to go down isles you just go to that end of the store. I love the beer wall they have in the back that is so nice and I don't like beer. They are over all so much nicer then tops and that is nothing bad about tops.

They also have stuff tops doesn't.

Thought you might enjoy some pictures. It isn't like I did an entire study or anything just my take on the places quickly.
metalpeter - 05/14/10 17:15
It seems odd that they wouldn't use english. I get it if they are anti-american. But you I would think that there are so many people who if they don't speak it at least have it as a second Language do to The British ruling so many places in the past. There was a part of me that just wanted to get one of everything and try all that candy.
ladycroft - 05/13/10 09:34
I did enjoy that actually! Rory and I always comment how much we enjoy just walking through a grocery store in the US because there are so many choices - compared to here. I think I've learned most of my French trying to buy food here, because they seem to list every language but English on their packages :)
jason - 05/11/10 17:10
Yeah Peter, it's a local product, you should try it out sometime. Glass bottles even.
metalpeter - 05/11/10 16:17
I have never tried it, is that the one that is local from around here or is it national? The reason I ask is there is compay with Ryan in its name that makes a logenberry (Mighty Taco Has it) that is really good. There is a difference between Real sugar and Sugarcane Sugar but I have no idea what it is........
jason - 05/11/10 15:28
Mexican coke is good, but honestly the best cola I think is Johnnie Ryan's. Just awesome. I don't say that about soda usually.
tinypliny - 05/11/10 15:23
What on earth is a botan rice candy?!
metalpeter - 05/11/10 15:13
wish I was brave enough to try some of that other stuff as well........
paul - 05/11/10 01:30
I am obsessed with those botan rice candies like the ones in the first pic.
metalpeter - 05/10/10 18:23
You make a good point.
1. The Fruit and Veggies I don't hit those up. I should but..... I like them but don't buy them. I could eat an entire thing of Strawberries and Blueberries and Raspberries with out a problem, I can't imagine what it would do to my insides though.

2. Also wanted to mention I haven't bought meat anyplace in a long time.
A. Stopped making Chili and not sure why
b. Don't have a place to fry burgers
C. Cold cuts are good but the bread all ways go bad (plus how fresh is the stuff?)

3. I won't buy milk. Here is the reasons:
A. It has to be very cold otherwise it doesn't taste right, almost so cold it hurts your teeth.
B. It goes bad so quickly if you forget a day it can go bad like that
c. I forget to buy the flavored stuff

I also wanted to mention that all that candy looks so good, even though I have no idea what most of it is, Am I brave enough to try stuff, like what is ginger candy. That being said I love how Death Note (animated and the movies I have seen with some (e:peeps)) Makes the candy look, I would love to try that.
tinypliny - 05/09/10 17:30
This made me smile - the aisles I hit are probably not the aisles you hover around. :-)

Iron Man 2
Category: movies
I really liked IronMan 2. It had Scarlet Johansen Oh my she is a bad ass in this movie. It is nice to see her in this type of role. I think Mickey Rouke is great as the bad guy he really is. Lots of action and story and then some funny parts to. Stay through the end credits it sets up another movie like the 1st one did, in other words the ending is after the credits. I can admit I never did read Iron Man as a comic but think the movies are great. Hoping this will spawn people to go out and buy the old comics and catch that verison of the story. If what I have heard is correct at some point their will be an avengers movie or series of movies I should say. I mean the super heros not the British spys (never watched the show or seen the movie based on them).
tinypliny - 05/09/10 17:28
hehe, interesting. :)

So Saturday was interesting part 1
Category: elmwood
So On Saturday I was hoping it was going to be as nice as Friday but it wasn't but I still had a good time. It was nice to see Carey and Dana briefly, again I said it there so I'll say it here. My mind was kinda some place else and I had no money but I still should have stopped into ETS and said Hello.

Down around the Museums I had some odd flashbacks. There is this part of the hill that in HS when you ran cross country you had the option to go over or around. Then later I had a visual of us leaving a meet and walking down this little pathway. That was odd.

Well here is the beginning of the pictures.

Yes that would be the house all right. It does look amazing, I can't Imagine what the inside must look like.
jbeatty - 05/06/10 09:34
I love that house that is near the pedestrian bridge. I think its owned by the guy that owns ricks tally ho. I suppose that would be Rick.
metalpeter - 05/05/10 17:00
I went to Leonardo DaVinci , back then that meant you ran for Grover. I will admit I didn't get to a picture of that yet I was hoping to but ran out of time, so that will be in part 2.
ladycroft - 05/05/10 05:29
aww, spring time. I miss spring and flowers and trees and grass and bunny rabbits and rain and fresh air.........
paul - 05/04/10 22:58

Buffalo Sat #3
Category: elmwood
I did have a good time on my short adventure on Saturday. So back to where I left off I guess. I just wish it was bright out I think it would have made the pictures "Pop" more and would upped the fun level a bit also. But I did run into 4 people I know so that was interesting and I did get to see the Carvings for a cause with out freezing my hands but forgot to go see the one I saw at Grover in the Paper.

I think there has to be something those towers can be used for, yeah I know that aren't as cool looking as like towers in europe but they are pretty nice and it should be used I think.

In Terms of Pano's the pictures below I'm not sure if they really show the point I want to make. (e:MrMike) wrote about how he wants to or is going to add a patio. Now adding one I think is silly. If you look at the grass it doesn't look like there would be much room really. But the other thing is you see those panels they slide open so you have a covered patio when it is nice. Not to mention that would have to be open anyways how would the wait staff get to the patio other wise. Also I have never been to the thirsty Buffalo but their side area looks like a lot of fun.

ladycroft - 05/13/10 09:36
They re-did that house shortly after I moved on that street...so 2006. The garden came after; you're probably on target with your guess.
metalpeter - 05/07/10 17:13
It is on Bryant about a block from Elmwood heading towards Richmond it is on the opposite Corner from Aroma or what Ever the Italian Place is called. I don't know the entire History of that little house but what I do know is that on that Corner their used to be a commuity Garden. So I assume at one time there was a house there. I really don't remember. I guessing a few Years ago is when they started or maybe finished that little house there. I have no idea if someone bought the land or how that all works. I can't remember if (e:ladycroft) lived on that street when the garden was there or if it was the house. The reason I mention that is she may have more info on it then I would based on when it went up (niether of her roomates post here any more so......)

Just wanted to add one other thing about the place across the conrner. It used to be Called Taste of Italy or something like that. Before it closed or got bought or what ever I went once and didn't like it. It wasn't that the food wasn't good. It was one of those fancy places with fancy stuff I don't like, what no plain noodles with plain sauce, what no simple Alfrado sauce, argh. Haven't tried the new place though.......
heidi - 05/07/10 16:45
I love the little red house. Where is it? Great photos, Peter!
metalpeter - 05/07/10 16:39
Glad you liked the Photos. There is one thing that I don't know if I was clear on I only walked one way. What I mean is a caught a bus down to The area around Hoyt Lake and then walked back towrds my house. On the way down those front sliding panel doors at Pano's where open well at least a little bit open.
tinypliny - 05/06/10 21:54
Loved the photographs! I feel like I should have gone walking with you!!!

Interesting Sat Part 2
Category: elmwood
I was hoping the Japanese Garden would be very nice, it didn't seem ready and there was stuff all over the place, but it has been so long since I'm been there, but even in the rain I had a good time.

So in my previous post I mentioned that I had a Cross Country flashback. Where you see the split in the road is the way we came down the hill. You had the option to run up it and down or run around it. No idea how each person made their choice really. I know I don't remember.

I thought that sign was funny since there is no ice they just leave it attached all year I guess. The Picture of the Albright Knox is interesting in that there is an ambulance up there. So I squatted down and the angle I took it at you can't see it, hence the picture above.

One thing about the rose garden as you can tell taking Flower Pictures is fun. As anyone who is reading this can tell there are people on here who could do a much better job of making the flowers look nice in picture format. One thing I can never really tell or figure out is if it is better to show a bunch of flowers or a close up. Also different flowers are in different states of bloom. Yes I was thinking about that as I was taking the pictures.

Well this is where I have to leave off with my look on Buffalo for a bit. I just have to say that not sure what was up on that Saturday but my mind was someplace else or somewhere I'm not used to being. I haven't been to that Museum since I was a little kid. I only was outside here. But it felt weird. It was like where is Music IS art? It felt odd without stages and places to eat and a DJ area it really was odd and no one around, it was surreal it really was. One thought Did cross my mind, and that was how amazing it would be to Have an MIA VIP pass. That way I could be up on that fenced in area and look at the stages and it would be easy to go from one stage to the other. I think if I could pay for one I would. Hey maybe on facebook I should send MIA and Robby a message about that, or maybe not we shall see. Hope the holiday was well to anyone reading this. Oh yeah that part where it says stuff was often used as a place to stand at MIA.
