First of all I have to admit that Yes I Do Want a Cell Phone. But see I don't want it to talk to people. I want it for all the cool things it can do, like text as an example. I want to be at a festival or concert or sports event take a picture then up load it to multiple sites. I think that is what it would be perfect for. What phone I would get I don't know. They all have these plans where you have to commit for years and then what if you don't like the phone or the pictures are crap.
I Like ads that are funny or smart. I have seen a bunch of great ones and see great ones each year. But I have to say because of them I hate the iphone.
1. Apple has always had this "we Are Different and Better and Cooler then You" Vibe and I so see this with the iphone.
2. The apps I have seen lies on those ads. Lets see it is a phone it can't send a box fedex. you need the box and the phone won't print out labels for you.
3. The apps again imply that they do all the work when they don't. They show this one where someone turns off their lights with their phone, um yeah right. The only way that would work is if you had one of those smart houses and then you link that with the phone some how.
What this comes down to when you combine is that Apple is selling you a bill of goods. They make it look like the phone does all this stuff on its own and that all you have to do is push a button. It also makes it look like all this stuff is preloaded on your phone. Um no you have to pay for each app. If any other industry pulled this they would be locked up for fraud. Can you imagine if you bought a car and the rear breaks where extra. What the iphone does is really just a bait and switch or a con if you believe the ad.
But there is another issue with the iphone or any "smart phone" I have that isn't addressed really. They love to show you how much the phone can do. Yeah and it is great that you can be on myspace, twitter and facebook all at once. It is great that you can link all your e-mail and other websites through a facebook log in. It is great that there is all this stuff going on line, and it is great that you can turn on your lights, turn off the alarm and open your garage door all with your phone. You have control of your entire life with your phone. Well that is until you hook up with an ex and they take your phone as you shower and they ruin you life on all the social network. How about when someone steals your phone and takes over your life with it. But see these ads don't tell you the dangers of this or just you setting your phone down and someone who doesn't like you picks it up and starts shit. Hey What I'm saying is that when you walk into a store someone needs to go listen, it is great you can do all this stuff with this phone but just remember when a criminal gets a hold of this phone they can now do everything you could do with it. Hey all I'm saying is that the sellers of this tech or any tech should have to explain the downsides of the tech also.

AZ shows how this country is backwardsSo this Az Anti Imagration law drives me insane for a number of reasons.
1. It turns cops into Border Patrol. Hey they have enough to deal with , they don't need to also be boarder agents.
2. This law was aimed at mexicans only really
3. It doesn't get that there are good people who work and follow laws and pay taxes but are not here legaly and that they are different then crimanls but yet these two groups would now be treated the same.
What drives me the craziest about this though is how like in so many things this country fights things backwards.
1. Deporting people who have family members who are here legaly isn't an answer
2. Building a great wall along the boarder would never work it is to long and americans don't work that hard anyways
But see those ideas are from the backwards view. If you don't want illegas coming here then give them no reason to. In other words work with mexico so it isn't a shit hole. Yes it has great beaches but the country is poorer then us. When US companies send jobs over there they pay them shit compaired to here but they are still often the best jobs over there. Untill you get Mexico good enough that people don't want to leave you will allways have an Imigration problem.

Well if the Indians would have been like any other nation in the world when we found this place they would have cut of our heads put them on spears and put them on the beach as a warning to not come back (kinda like the vikans who found this place before europeans). In other words unless you are 100% Native American one of your ancesters (sometimes very recently) where an imegrant.
Why can you not throw people out. Well that is an easy one.
1. They have a legal citizen that is a child, who will raise the kid?
2. They do Jobs that most americans won't. You know things like pic fruits and shit like that.
3. There is a certain part of society that does benefit from them.
Here is the thing is that their is a lot of guised speak in terms of imegartion . The illegal asian girls who work in chinese food places, and giving messages and call girls and shit like that see those are ok, but mexicans are not thought in the same way. For some it is that if you are from a European country then that is fine.
What there needs to be is some kind of new program to deal with people who are here illegaly and aren't doing anything wrong. Here is what I would do.
1. Any one who is found is given a number
2. They are fingerprinted
3. Picture Taken
4. Then a Name is established
5. That name is them from now one with that picture and those prints
6. There are in many cities these adult education classes they are sent to those and they must attend (guesing they take attandance), In English (can't make them speak it but they will atleast learn it)
Anyone can call in anyone else and say I think so and so at such and such a place is illegal. Guys can show up scan your State, or school ID (they will all have a bar on them) and it will bring up all your info. {hey I don't like this big brother stuff but I guess it is nesacary]
DEA and Border control can do this not like the DEA has anything else do anyways, HA. Oh yeah or the feds could do their job.
Now here is the bigger question if I can come up with an idea that can work or would at least be base why can't any president come up with one?

On a personal level there are a couple reasons I don't cook really.
1. With it just being me stuff winds up going to waste (all the cooking stuff for multiple dishes)
2. Taste wise I like the unhealthy stuff, things like beef and things like that.
That being said if cooking where to fit me I would do it. I think there are still many familes where people do cook, I'm just not one of them. Just because you cook doesn't mean it is good for you. I used to do fried chicken, YUM. But not to good for ya.
I do agree with you that you need people to do things that are healthy for themselves. But I think that in terms of the medical field prevention should be #1 goal and not profit, and then the #2 goal should be to fit illness. Cures for things fit right in there with both things.
Yes there are some health plans that do pay you for doing things that make you healthier like exercise. And here is my but. They are doing it for the wrong reason. They know that if you do healthy stuff you chance of getting sick is less so they will make more money. It isn't that it makes you healthier and that is better for the world. So they are doing the right thing for the wrong reason. But it is a start.
I think there must be some way to let people know and encourage them to be healthy. It is true that people with cars do a lot of preventive stuff but they don't do it for them selves. Again this is tricky cause some people can't exercise or have to do certain things. For example Running is bad for the knees but good for the heart. People have to start out slow and work into things. There has to be some enjoyment as well.
I don't have the answers but I do know that we are fighting health, the drug problem, and imegration backwards one must fight the cause and not the symptom. Best example I have is my school loan or even a credit card bill. Those companies will let you pay only the interest. Well when the balance never gets any lower you will pay them back untill you die. If there was a way that you only paid off what you owe and then got that done then paid of the interest you would be much better off (you pay some interest and some of the premium I still have some time to go on mine).

Peter, great comment about prevention. But prevention has one major stumbling block. It needs personal resolve, determination and conviction on the part of the individual who needs to adopt prevention. Tell me this. Will you be willing to devote an hour to cooking each day if I guaranteed you that you will not end up with say, heart disease when you hit 60? What is you gut reaction to this statement? (Don't say that you can't cook, because in a preventive environment, let's assume that someone will be able and willing to come to your house and show you how to start this).

I think that Drugs should be legal and taxed. Hey everyone who was alive then saw how when you made Alcohol illegal it pushed it into the streets and there was all this crime. That is a very debatable point. But the drug war Is fought backwards in this country just like immigration . What they do is they lock up people for using drugs and selling them. But what happens is new drug dealers show up. I get that drugs do destroy a lot of peoples lives. But it is supply and demand, if there was no demand then no one would sell drugs. Another way to look at this is you locked up all the cocaine then people who do that and need to get high would find some other drug. But if there was a real system in place that aimed to make it so people don't need to take drugs that would take care of the drug problem (well most of it).
(e:Tinypliny) you mentioned something in one of your posts or comments about prevention in being healthy. I agree with you and ad this. Health is an example where we so often come at being sick from the backwards way. Diet pills are to get thin and lose weight not about being healthy. Go into a drug store and you have all kinds of pills that will make you feel better and some might make you less sick, that isn't really the point. The point is that all this stuff is to make you better after you are sick. This is true of Scripts also. Yes there are people who work on cures for things, but even that is a cure so that say you have cancer or something it will go away. Here is a better way, why not approach health as a preventive measure so people won't get sick. Granted it could never bee 100%. But Imagine if instead of finding a cure for AIDS (some day) and Cancer. What if there was a way (yes eating healthy is a great start but often you need more) that people who may get breast Cancer could take a pill or shot of some kind that could prevent that kind of cancer from growing. Yes there is some movement in the Medical field for prevention, but it should be the entire way of thinking. Now can you control what do to be healthy, no, but you can still help prevent a lot of stuff by leading with prevention as opposed to reaction.

I have a theory but it is just a theory. No Matter what major city you came to there was this system in place where everyone who was Irish lived in the same area and everyone who is polish lived together. Most major cities still have a China Town. It makes sense that if people speak the same Language and have the same customs that they would naturally form groups. Then I guess it makes sense that One Group of people don't want people with different ideas and morays living with them.
Where I get lost is that after a few generations where everyone speaks english that this should go away. I think that over time what at once was I hate this person for this is down to the level of a joke. But Also think that everyone who is "White" kinda blended together and people who look different (black and Hispanic) there is still a lot of hate for.
Don't get me wrong I'm not saying I'm all for illegals to come here. But I do get that after Europeans landed here we took over the country bought LA, had a war and got some of mexico. Indians still live on reservations (not all of them) and have Casinos and Battle over tax of Cigarettes so we are still very connected to our forming of a country.
I'm not going to blame the Church for this, but we Americans Think we are better then others. I"m not saying all Americans but a Vast Majority I think it has become an American Thing.
But Part of the point of my post is that we do so many things back wards in this country and it drives me crazy that will be my next comment.

It's interesting that this country was built wholly through immigration. It's cutting edge scientific prowess is 90% attributable to immigration. It's cultural and communal societies are built on tolerance and heterogeneity.
I wonder why this heterogeneity of the country does not influence guided law-making in an area that is so central a theme here.

Wishing I was the Happy Hour #4Category: wishes
So On my way home I saw a bunch of people out side a couple of bars. I will admit It looks fun. Nice day out, warm, and sunny. I do like my Job. But there is that other part of me that thinks it would be great to have one of those Jobs (Now I Have pictures from the Drew Carrey show running through my head, I loved that show, it was great it really was) Downtown. Then from their you all go to the bar and be social before it is time to go home. Doesn't that sound like fun!!!!!
Now I'm not saying that I would want to Drink Everyday. I would think drinking for 2 hours everyday could do some damage. Then you would get used to it. I think there might be days where if you had they day off you would have to go to Happy Hour, since you are now addicted to it. I don't only mean the alcohol but that is a big part of it. I mean the social aspect of it. At the very least it would feel weird not being there. Don't get me wrong I like who I am. But I think there would be something nice about being "Mr Sociable ". I think the social aspect is the big reason why Happy Hour is a big deal, it isn't really about the relaxing it is about doing something after work but before you need to be home. But I don't do the Happy Hour so maybe I don't get it, but it would be nice to get.

That is a good one. I wonder though if the Happy Hour is more about relaxing with a drink or if the social aspect. In terms of a happy minute by the end of the week you might make it to a happy 3 minutes and over time your body would adjust and you could stay longer and drink more, not that I'm encouraging that. But it does look fun though.

Wish #3 Loving the coldCategory: wishes
I think that many people can be put into the group of loving the Heat or loving the cold. I myself am a heat guy. I have been burned a few times, ok more then a few and that does suck. I can't stand being cold. The cold is painful and things go numb and you shake and no thanks.
There was a time when I really enjoyed the cold. Don't get me wrong I do like snow but that is a different thing. I wish I enjoyed the cold because there are so many things you can do out in it. You have snowmobiling , skiing , snowboarding, Giant Snow Ball fights and all kinds of great adventures. That being said even if you love the cold you have to know how to do it safely and when you have been out to long. Granted I could never be the next lindsey Vonn, Shaun White, or Tucker Hibert but those sports all look pretty fun. I think it would also be fun to travel places and go on skiing vacations and things like that.
Well that is really all I have to say about that, oh yeah and it would also be great to be able to take pictures out in like wintery wonderland kinds of shots.

Well maybe. I used to like the cold, some. I used to cross Country ski, and I did go down hill skiing. I like watching the cold sports on TV. As much as I like it on TV I could never stand out side in the cold and watch those sports, maybe partaking would keep me warm but I don't know?

"The Lifestyle" wishCategory: wishes
Ok so the first thing is that what is weird about writting a blog is that unless you are left comments you really have no idea if anyone is reading you or not. So for anyone who might be you would know that I'm started a new catogory called wishes. This one that is here will not be copied and pasted onto facebook. I wish I could but I have way to much family on there, again there is no way to know if anyone is reading it or not, there is also no way to know how facebook shares their info with other sites now.
On Friday they are having a Fetish Show at Club Diablo. I think this one is just demonstrations and no skits or little shows, but not sure not sure if they will have someone spinning also or not. Fetish might be the wrong term it Might Be Considered BDSM. I want to go but don't think I'm going to. Between getting in, drinking, then taking pictures I really don't have the extra money. Plus the other thing is after a long week of work I'm often pretty tired on Friday. I would love to go and meet someone and go back to their place and be hung upside down by my balls as they use me as a swing, HA. But you know what I mean.
I am an admirer of the life style but wish I was In The lifestyle.
I just don't have enough trust to be tied up or pulled on.
I also have a low pain threshold.
I find a lot of things to be gross.
I don't think I could deal with small space stuff (Bags, and gas masks and that kind of thing)
Real Blood Freaks me out.
Some Might say it sounds like you don't like it, but that isn't really true. I love the idea of it and some of It I do like. I do admire people who partake in it. But I don't see anyway I could get into the lifestyle of it (Hey getting just a normal date or hookup is hard enough, imagine going up to some hot chick and going would you mind un ziping my pants and slipping this on me and dragging me around this bar).
I feel as if I haven't expressed what I want to express but not really sure what else to say..................

In Terms of Trust, I find it hard to trust people because I know all it takes is one slight little mistake and ouch. That is why I won't do any of those adventure activites. All you need is for the person holding the rope to think about something for a few seconds and your safety is at risk.

That is a good point. I think for me it would have to be someone I was say dating, or knew well. I also have to add that I think for it to work you have to have a very strong and honest relationship. The reason I say that is you can't have some deep down resentment that isn't aired and then have some kind of crop or belt and you take out the anger on them. I don't mean on purpose just that stuff building up. I like the shopping analogy.

Hmmm... I think the wish falls into the window shopping curiosity. Interesting but not really practical. :)

I know it's not really your point peter, but Apple actually does have a thing where if you lose your iphone, you can erase all your data- so if someone finds it they can't use it. And it keeps a backup, so that if you find it later, you can put it all back. It also shows you on a map where the phone is, using GPS, and can make it beep and say "give me back" or whatever you want it to say.
I hope I'll never have to use it- but I do like knowing it's there.
If the camera on the phone was good enough so when the picture was printed out it looked good then it might take the place of my camera, well except for snow and rain and stuff like that cause the waterproof camera is great for that stuff.
I am going to someday hopefully soon look into the phone thing. But not sure if it is really worth it though? But it would be nice.
In terms of phone loss. Here is what I'm thinking about. After I joined facebook Yahoo has something where you can link it to facebook and someother sites do the same thing where if you like something it sends it to your facebook page (if you are signed in). Certain web browsers ask if you want them to remember your password. If you say yes then any site with that option you are no longer you there. Hopefully sites like with loans and credit card info and bank pages, people are smart enough so that the device won't remember that. But I don't think most people think about what if someone steals this phone or I drop it at a bar or whatever. The possibility of what could happen is worse then your wallet I think because of how quickly things could happen over the internet.
Am I saying there should be a federal law, well maybe. There should be at least a practice in "The Tech" world that when someone is about to buy (as an example) an iphone that they are told by the person selling it about secruity. Is anyone going to read that pamphlet. Maybe it could be part of the instructions not sure really.
Well - you don't really need to get an iphone. There are plenty of other devices in the market (nudge nudge Google phones. :-)) Plus, I am finding out that I don't even need a dataplan to do half the cool things I can do with my google phone. I don't do extensive social networking etc, but use the phone for occasional email checking (it works without a data plan - if you are near any wifi somewhere).
I have not used my camera since I got the phone. I am not always logged in to my email so if ever my phone gets stolen, I will lose the phone itself (sad) but not get all my details stolen because I don't have them on there (because I am not logged in and clear the cache periodically). The big picture is that having your phone stolen is like having your wallet stolen, you run the risk of identity theft in both cases.
