Last night I somehow cut the top of my toe. It was one of those really painful cuts where the top layer of skin is sliced off but not enough to bleed so there is no scab.
So today I was dreading the walk to work because we were out of bandaids. Then I found this leftover box of bandaids from nonna's medicine cabinet with one little mini bandaid in it. It fit
perfectly, kind of like she left it for this occasion. Okay, that's cheesy but I smiled on the way to work thinking about it.
The box is probably using potatoes that are peeled and washed. It tends to be kind of bland.
Really good homemade latkes get a lot of their taste from leaving the skin on and the juices intact (kinda like with fresh-cut french fries). I also found out the hard way with the first batch I ever made (10+ years ago) that you have to add egg+onion, otherwise the latkes come out as hash browns instead of potato pancakes.
i made these a few weeks ago... i LOVE potato pancakes!
Not sure my mother bought it. I think though, that there is no need for a box. It looked just like cut up potatoes fried in a pan.
I had to look up what Latke meant. And man, I have never had a latke before! Where did you get this mix? Wegmans?
