Mike and his new phone

He finally entered the world of keyboard phones. I remember when
everyone made fun of mr for typing on my phone. Now everyone wants a
keyboard.

I finally just ordered mine and it is on its way! I chose maroon because i didn't want to get it confused with mike's. (e:fellyconnelly) did give me the same advice and I will never text from the outside and I did get a case for it. I also got the stupid insurance for it and upped my text messaging so I could get full use of the keyboard.
fellyconnelly - 12/26/08 20:19
its hardly a smartphone, but please make sure you get some sort of case for it and don't text from the outside! trust me!
mike - 12/25/08 23:28
if you think i am excited about my new phone, youshould see the excitement I have from your checkbook you left here. That was a nice christmas suprise to have a whole book of blank checks! Thanks santa!

I don't even want a phone around, forget a smartphone.

Nothing says Christmas brunch

Like Manischewitz homestyle Potato Latkes!

The box is probably using potatoes that are peeled and washed. It tends to be kind of bland.

Really good homemade latkes get a lot of their taste from leaving the skin on and the juices intact (kinda like with fresh-cut french fries). I also found out the hard way with the first batch I ever made (10+ years ago) that you have to add egg+onion, otherwise the latkes come out as hash browns instead of potato pancakes.
fellyconnelly - 12/26/08 20:19
i made these a few weeks ago... i LOVE potato pancakes!
paul - 12/25/08 19:27
Not sure my mother bought it. I think though, that there is no need for a box. It looked just like cut up potatoes fried in a pan.
tinypliny - 12/25/08 16:36
I had to look up what Latke meant. And man, I have never had a latke before! Where did you get this mix? Wegmans?

Wrapping gifts

I get better at it every year. This year I moved onto envelopes. The
gem is really my primitive use of pseudo perspective. Nothing screams
MFA like this masterpeice.

That looks like Thurber drew it. All wavy and underwatery --> :::link:::

Christmas eve

We went to my aunts house for Christmas eve. The kids were so excited
about Santa Claus. I think it was the first year that none of them
were scared of him.

Hope it was a good time. There is something scary about him but I don't know what it is. It is kinda from a distance he isn't bad but kids get close and freak out sometimes, oh maybe it is because they know, he knows they were bad, HA. Not really sure what it is, good thing that no kids where freaking out.

Nonna's bandaid
Category: family
Last night I somehow cut the top of my toe. It was one of those really painful cuts where the top layer of skin is sliced off but not enough to bleed so there is no scab.

So today I was dreading the walk to work because we were out of bandaids. Then I found this leftover box of bandaids from nonna's medicine cabinet with one little mini bandaid in it. It fit
perfectly, kind of like she left it for this occasion. Okay, that's cheesy but I smiled on the way to work thinking about it.

that is the greatest thing ever! She is so amazing forever!
tinypliny - 12/24/08 08:34
You know, that is the FIRST thing I thought about looking at this picture. I was all "Wow, what an elegant looking bunch of toes". But then I thought, "Wow. sounds like I have a toe fetish", followed by "That is so cool, Paul is stepping on some snobby designer thresholds - you know, like a modern godzilla with a pedicure. Oh, what a culture statement". Finally, I read your post, and I was all "Where is the bandaid" "Where is the bandaid". Spotted it and decided not to comment on all the deviance.

But hey, I can only be quiet that long. LOL
ladycroft - 12/24/08 04:11
awww.

p.s. you take good care of your toes!
