Ruby Conf 2007 here I come!

I got permission from (e:James) and we are headed down to Charlotte NC at the beginning of November for 3 days of geekery!

James will just lounge pool-side while I soak in such topics as these:

With a keynote by Matz, the creator of Ruby. FYI, Ruby is a programming language.

I've got the hotel booked and my registration for the conference all set, thankfully 'work' is paying for it :)

Sorry, by 'work' I mean that I am paying for it, since I work freelance. But work is paying for it in the sense that it's coming out of my business account and I can write it off.

While I'm more a fan of extremely verbose languages (let's make those fingies burn!), I envy you enormously. I wish I could visit my home state, and I wish my workplace would pay for me to go to programming conferences.

Apparently I can't go to WWDC because the previous programmers decided they weren't interested in the business paying for them to go to WWDC. And I've been grandfathered into their foolishness.

Anyhow, please ignore my bitter rants and have as much fun as possible!

I got a new lens today, it is a 30mm normal/wide prime lens that I adore already. Here is my first photo from it:

uhm... were you at Zhang's Buffet on Union? It looks familiar and until you mentioned it was at a buffet, i couldn't figure out where i would have seen such a... uh... lovely piece of art.

It is at a Chinese Buffet ( I forget which ) and I think it was made out of rabbit fur. Paul had to sit next to it and almost died I think.
