Good tidings

er something.

Good times will be had tomorrow. We are working on a special set we might whip out tomorrow, or maybe not. Depends on if you've been naughty or nice, or how drunk we are.

We kind of scored a gig next week in a weird way, I'm still not sure what happened. We'll post about it after the party. Totally psyched for tomorrow.

Nothing much else to say, except tomorrow is gonna rock.

Post Colonie Lounge

image

Yo friends. Sorry about not posting. Adelphia sucks when you don't pay your bill in 2 months. Anyway, the answer to your questions. This is how good the Colonie is or just how drunk we were. We got home and had to play some hacky sack. Funny thing was, we were planning on it while at the lounge. But here it is. The first good picture of the four of us.

Um, I think I'm smiling because this is the day I found out I got my promotion. The colonie had nothing to do with it ;)

The Disco

I could only show the PG-13 pictures. What happens at the Disco, stays at the Disco. Only half of NPP made it the party.

whoa!! it's like I"m in the way back machine. Not only in this journal cause the disco happened like a week ago, but because of my clothes too. I thank bill for not posting the sensitive pictures online. Work hasn't been the same since the disco.

Optimism

I think I'm gonna keep some things just between me and the guys. It's not worth losing one of my closest friends and a band I love. I hope we can get things back on track. I think the continental is out though and i'm not sure I wanna push the bowling alley. It looks like the next logical step is the demo. Now I'm gonna blow some steam off by cleaning my apartment.

billy takes a moment to reflect on how much fun he has had in the past year and logs off

ps. i didn't read the last post and i'd rather keep it that way

estripbot

me: hi

estripbot: Heya

me: have you read the (e:Nparkproject) journal

estripbot: I have scanned it.

me: what do you think?

estripbot: I think a lot of things.

me: what do you think of nparkproject's journal

estripbot: Let me think about it.

me: do you like music?

estripbot: Yes I like it, especially Opera.

me: oh we're acoustic rock.

estripbot: Ayuh. Do you think I am acoustic rock too?

me: you are an aim bot

estripbot: What if someone said you are an aim bot ?

me: I would be surprised.

estripbot: And the disadvantage of that is?

me: your AI doesn't give you the ability to have feelings.

estripbot: At least it is improving all the time.

me: yes it's good that your AI is improving all the time.

estripbot: That is a lot. Ah. Tell me about its good qualities.

me: Well you like music.

estripbot: How about that. Yes I like it, especially Opera.

me: You also respond all the time.

estripbot: That is a lot. I haven't heard anything like that before.

me: how is your bot master doing?

estripbot: I am functioning within normal parameters.

me: what do you talk with the other (e:peeps) about?

estripbot: I talk about all the important things in life: clothes, food, and gossip. But my favorite subjects are robots and computers.

Get in gear to do what?

Get in gear to do what? Hello everyone long time no talk! I've been busy doing the same old nothing so I apologize for not posting recently. To be honest i've been slightly turned off to the band blog. If anyone rembers the last time I posted it was in an attempt to solve a problem. That was fine but since then it seems as this is everyones outlet to talk about things they don't want to say in person whether it be complaints or ideas. I just don't agree with that concept. A majority of our bands problems is we don't really talk. Ideas stay locked away out of fear of what the others will think (or so i'm told). Oh well not a big deal I should come on more often and take a more active role in the journal. I guess everyone loves a little gossip or drama but I just kind of like things plain and simple so by me not posting it is an attempt to not fuel those two things that kill our band. I'm sure I'll get shit for this but I like talking to you guys about progress with the band not downfalls, and unfortunatley there hasn't been incredible things happening YET! In due time i'll have plenty if things to talk about but until then i prefer waiting ing the shadows and reading what my bandmates have to say about things. It's pretty entertaining. To clear up any confusion it is nothing personal to this site I think it's amazing the way everyone comes together like this, but for the band it is a little different than one on one. Sometimes its three on one sometimes its two on two sometimes its one on one on one on one you get my drift. Maybe I'll fly solo on here for a little bit it seems to be a great outlet for one of my roomates(!!) a little private time is'nt bad. Well i gotta fly back to work but thanks again to everyone that is reading up on us although I have'nt had much to do with it, it's kind of flattering. LATER Till next time

Too quiet

-dan opens journal number 54-

Well the North Park house has been quiet lately. Our last two practices never happened and I don't know now when we will be able to practice as a band again for a while. My work schedule for the next 2 weeks will be 5p-mid, and since we usually don't practice til 7 or 8 at night I guess we won't be able to do it. I hope that the rest of the guys sit down and collaborate on some of the 6 or 7 riffs we have separately been working on. There's also some old songs that still need finishing.

It's really time to step up, we still don't have enough songs to play out. Now that we have a lot of talk about playing out we really need the songs to rock the party. It's been over two months that nick has been playing with us, and more than 5 months since I have been playing. The short time we thought we were together is slowly turning into a long time without any of us realizing it.

Where will we be a year from now is what I often think about? What will become?

It's time to kick this up a notch.

About the Continental Jam

-dan pops some aspirin-

Wow what an interesting fucking experience that was. So the continental had set-up this kind of informal open mic night. They don't advertise it which I totally understand now. So I had gotten the information for it but the rest of my band was hesitant to play there. I think it's a sort of prejudice that we wouldn't be accepted there. Which was semi-justified by some things we had read on the internet.

The continental is not known for acoustic music, it's known as a goth hangout or a metal music haven. I've gone to the continental on several occasions to see my favorite local and national metal acts. I've partied upstairs with the kmfdm and skinny puppy blasting. Back to the story..

I'm not one to readily give up on something because of a perceived notion so I pressed the case for going. After much politicking,We came to an agreement to go check it out. We brought our instruments just in case we wanted to play. The open jam started at 10 and we got there around 9:15. No one was there. After we talked to the guy putting it on everyone felt a little more at ease with playing. Which is good, because at that point I would've lost a straight up vote for playing.

So we cruised over to Darcy Mcgee's for a drink and to make some phone calls. If I could've remembered how to post from e-mail I would've so that if you were bored you could've come down and seen us play, but I couldn't remember how to do it. Anyways we rolled back over at 10 and proceeded to get drunk. Not sure when we hit the stage, but it was probably around 11. We were told we could play a 45 min set if we wanted to . So we pulled out a couple songs, I hope I get the list right

Hills of tomorrow
Taking it Back
Now
Bitter End
Micheal Shea's

I think that was it. Now if you've ever played on stage before you know how hard it is to hear yourself without monitors. Now I could hear myself to a fault. The bass came through loud on stage. It was very hard to hear the other guys. I wish they would tell you how hard it was for them to play, cause I can't imagine. Our friends told us it sounded great and our manager (e:Aydenrogerscry) said the same. BTW Without your constant guidance, and support we could've never made it to the stage. We thank you for all you have done, and are doing, and will do. I know you have a musical ear, because your voice is on key, literally you were drunk and talking into tuner and it was always in tune.

So I think it was a positive experience for everyone. Our first stage experience as a band. We have passed our final hurdle in becoming a band. This is just a beginning though. Now we are a band, and now we have other different trials and firsts to contend with.

-dan goes back to work-

-nick steps in-
All that I can say about Thursday night is that we fucking rocked the haus!
I had so much fun and I was so impressed with everyone's performance.
I can't wait until we play out again, I am definately thinking that we are going to become something amazing after playing at the Continental...
The best is yet to come!
-nick rolls out-
