Halloween Halloween

Well the North Park halloween party was a success. I have a feeling pictures from this one will be all over the place. I know bill had taken a couple, i think...but I know there was a plethora of pics, that I'm sure you'll see soon.

Big score was Dry Ice courtesy of mills welding on great arrow drive. 92 cents a pound, and bill scored that just before noon. It looked way cool in the jungle juice mix. I can't even think of how cool the night went by. No problems, lots of drinking it was a way cool party.

NPP scored a double set. An early 3 song jam. That was cool, but lacked the people. The second was an extended jam at 11p I think we played 6 tunes

Hills of tomorrow
Sunshine
Taking it back
OM/VR(UltraVectionOven)
Bitter End
Mike Shea's

We rocked the casbah, people cheered. I heard mad people talking about how much they liked us. It was exactly what I needed. I wish I could've talked to more people after we played so I could've gotten a better idea of what songs they liked the most, but I was busy giving directions and other things. All of my friends showed up late as usual, after midnight. So they missed the set. Oh well. What else is there to say....

..oh yeah I'm still up party kicked off at 7p, and I'm still standing at 7a...well sitting at work. I can't wait to get to my bed, and relax and take it all in from last night. Hopefully I can see if we can get some party pics up with the quickness.

Deep entry

Very deep entry Dan...Good points.
I think that we should continue to record our jam sessions until everyone is content with a song or two and then we should post them on the site.
We definately have to play out though; thats a given...That is the only way that people are going to find out about us and I have a feeling that after we play a couple of local shows the venues will be asking us to come back cuz our sound is so original and catchy.
The only way that were gonna find out is if we try though.
I'll see everybody tonight.
Peace,
-Nick

Later on

...of course I have things to write about on my 13 hour shift. None of which will intrest anyone. Not sleeping then working, then writing is always a bad idea. Where as not sleeping then working and coming up with basslines is always a good idea. I think North Park is a camera crew away from it's own reality show. I mean do you realize we'll have our entire band in our house by the 15th of November. It's pretty insane considering we don't have the heat turned on and we don't have a bathroom.

No one has given me the go ahead to put up actual music yet, Bill nixed me just putting it up and says it depends on how jay feels. Well jay hasn't "approved" any of the recordings and since none of us have money for a demo I guess you won't get to hear us unless we play out. That's doubtful that will happen anytime soon, every time I bring up the subject, all I get is excuses. It's all very frustrating to me. I thought everyone knew how I felt on this subject.

You got to earn respect in this town, and only half of us have. Bill having been in a popular hardcore band and Nick being in his rock punk band. I was in a band that played out but we got no respect, we rarely played out, and when we did we got shitty shows because no one knew who we were. The most I got paid for a show was $6, and that was gas money for the two practices I went to. There isn't gonna be a crowd of people to see our first show, so why not just do it. So much of our lives are wasted sitting on our laurels. We react instead of act. It's what separates those who succeed and those who fail.

What is the fun in life if you never do anything?

Halloween Soire!

So we've been decorating all week. I think there is going to be a shit load of people at the house tomorrow. We are considering playing for everyone, depending on how the night goes. Nick will be there too, so we'll have the whole ensemble. Dan is working the usual overnight shift, so cleaning the house and getting the last few things will be up to Jay and me. I hope to have lots of pictures to show to all of you. I can't think of anything else to write right now. I am sure Dan will have some stuff to write later on. The way Jay has been wiriting, I'd expect us to have our first record deal before he posts again.

I'm moving in!

-Nick enters excited-
Thats right folks...On November 15th I should be all moved in to the North Park Project apartment!
I am very excited about this and I'm sure that nothing but good things will come of this decision for the band as a whole.
We will now be able to practice virtually 7 days a week and I can play almost anytime that I want now!
I just need to get a couple of things in order before I start packing my shit up for the move...Measurements will be taken on Thursday, & I need to find out about the cable situtation, my AOL situation and the laundry situation.
Sorry, those are my notes to self so I don't forget.
I'll keep you posted on how the transition unfolds.
Peace,

Music coming soon!!

-dan in-

Thought I'd give you a quickie. We practiced thrusday, it seems so long ago. Well the first part of practice sucked. So we got a couple drinks and bill prepared his computer for recording the second half of practice. Then we went to our favorite place for entertainment...colonie lounge...it was a good time.

So when we god back we were in good spirits, and drunk. I started up the computer and we recorded. Now it doesn't sound like a cd, nothing is mixed, it's basically like we put out a tape recorder and recorded. Only it's digital so I can manipulate it a little bit. I might boost the highs and lows and take the mids out a little. I dunno we'll see. I normalized it that night, and it sounded alright for what we did.

You'll probably have to wait for us to put a real demo together, but hopefully we will be gig'ing out soon so you can check us out in full stage effect.

Bald is Beautiful!!!

image

What can I say?

Jay is a great singer and guitarist.

Dan is a fantastic bass player with great ideas.

Nick is an amazing drummer.

Then there's me, the eye candy.

billy out

just wanted to add that bill is not only wasted in this picture, but that he would never drink right out of a scotch bottle. Gotta be on the rocks.

Bill & Dan are Drunk

Spell check is awesome, anyways, bill wanted me to use the ambersign...or something...it's this symbol &. Anyways...we're are drunk. Saw the yankee's get killed and we were out and decided to hear some new tunes. Well bill's new riff is something out of the ordinary. I like it a lot. I can't wait to make it a full song. I mean it's like watching a child grow, you get to see it at it's first stage and then it becomes an adult, a fully functioning song. In fact we are working on stuff as we write in this journal. Which is the best in artistic drunkness, to multitask. I write while bill "writes". Hopefully you will get to see some semi-finished product soon. I heard Broadway Joe's is asking for bands, we might do it up. So hopefully you will get to see us soon.

Dude, I'm so glad I didn't go to the strip club. Dan and I totally had a blast writing. I've been nursing this riff for like 3 months until it sounded good. Then Dan listened to it and gave me some input. It's great to have a fresh pair of ears to put something into perspective. It also helps to have someone else write with you so it doesn't sound the same as everything else you write. As I type this, Dan is jamming out a great riff but he probably doesn't like it because it's too somber. I like it because it strikes feeling in me. I can't wait to play out. It's lookin like broadway joe's is the place to start it out at. Right down the street. Hopefully Jay is into the idea.

ps. expect a picture of billy really soon

to the COLONIE!!!

I'm working til 9pm on Thursday, but hopefully I can take off a little early. Jay and I didn't write anything, I was braindead. Hopefully, we'll have some music to upload too.

Then off to relieve ourselves of some dollar bills.

The basement needs work and I just dropped a bunch of change on the downstairs bathroom.
