Fantasy

We all live in a fantasy world. Brought up on Faerie Tales and television, we actually believe that there's always a happy ending. We believe that if you try hard enough anythings possible, even in matters of the heart. No I honestly believe job wise if you try hard enough you can be pretty much anything ( rock stars and movie stars excluded ). That's why I can't watch these sappy romantic comedies, or romance movies period. They're just sentimental crap, as realistic as Hellboy. In the movie world Guy meets Girl, Girl doesn't like guy, guy spends all his time trying to win the Girl, Girl realizes she was wrong, happily ever after. Real world, Guy meets Girl, Girl doesn't like Guy, Guy spends all his time trying to win the Girl, Girl gets nervous, gets restraining order, Guy ends up bitter and alone. You can win a game, or fight for a position at work, but you cannot win something that's not out there to be won.
And how come most romantic comedies deal with infidelity. It's at the heart of all of these movies, You've Got Mail, 13 Going on 30, The Wedding Planer, My Best Friends Wedding, I could go on believe me. But in each of these movies a relationship is ended so the main characters can be happy. The irony is that women seem to love this crap! But I'm sure my wife wouldn't be to happy if I left her for "The Wedding Planner". They should make a movie based on the other persons perspective, the girl or guy who loses everything, so Julia Roberts character can be happy. They always skip over the 'victom'.
I know you're thinking " There only movies ", but there not, people tend to base the aspects of there life ( like relationships ) on what they think the other half wants. So a lot of guys (Who are desperatly trying to understand women), look to this sentimental crap for answers, for "What do women want?" but it's just fantasy. You're better off watching Monty Python to find the Holy Grail.

feeling a bit randy

I don't get it, if pretending to "moon" somebody is so terribly offensive, then why show it a hundred times on the news. So the people watching the game, of course, were "visually attacked" by Moss, but now everybody has seen it. Next time I hope he really moons the crowd. Now that would be something worth paying a fine for. I mean, if you have to "do the time", you might as well "do the crime" not just pretend. So my opinion, his actions were immature, childish, rude, and over the top. I hate all this dancing and celebration anyway, but come on, people need to get over themselves, how offended could you really be.

It's Showtime !!!

I love this show "Showtime at the Apollo". Not for the talent, but the crowd. It's such a cultural difference for me. The Black audience members are so supportive, White people will clap, and maybe give a standing ovation (at the end of the performance, first looking around to make sure everybody else is doing it), but these people are yelling," You go girl", and " Yeah, yeah", at any point they feel appropriate. I love it, I can't look away. Then you see the five or six white people in the audience, looking worried. It's a huge cultural gap, I think it's a blast, just not when I'm at the movies. The screen can't hear you, when I was little I remember seeing "Misery" at the Market Arcade, and everybody kept yelling, " Hurry she's coming back, ahhhh, go in the kitchen and get the knife !!!!" Not so amusing. So I'll keep watching the 'Appolo' because it's free.

Ouch

It's friiiiiiiday, boy am I tired. So for the past three years I have worked part time as a Massage Therapist. I had recently come to the conclusion that it wasn't my 'cup of tea'. So know I work as a general Contractor, (with my parents company). The reason I'm telling you this is because for the first time in three years, I have cuts all over my hands, and I love it. Each little wound is a reminder of a job well done. Massage just gave me crippling muscle spasms and pain. But now my back feels better, and my hands are weathered. Scars are like the body's version of the Post-it. I remember where they all came from. Reminders of lessons learned ( like don't cut wood with a razor blade, age 6). It's just to bad they hurt so much.

The Disney Vault

What the hell is the Disney Vault, and why do I have to hear about it all the time. Why does Disney have to lock up it's movies ? Nobody else does. So what I'm to believe is, The Lion King is going into this Vault, so I should hurry up and buy it, for my kids ( who don't exist yet ), because I might not be able to get it later. You know what I say, Fuck Disney !!! Let them have there shitty movies, I'll buy my kids the book, unless there's a Vault for that too.

The really. really , real world

Where has time gone ? i remember when I was in grade school, and there was an eternity between Columbus Day and Christmas Vacation. Now I'm twenty four, and thirty is all ready on my mind. Where will I be, who will I be. Why is that ? Is it because we hated school, so time dragged on, or maybe that since we were surrounded by so many people we created more memories ? I don't remember anything anymore, as in, "What day is it?, What did I do yesterday, last weekend?".
( and it's not just the alcohol ). Time is just moving along, like a river peace full and serene, and then the waterfall.
When your young people always tell you, " Wait until you get out in the real world" and I guess I always expected...well something? Life didn't really change that much, ( on a day to day basis, of course there are differences) Maybe, the real world just means you have to pay for stuff. Because most places I've worked for are socially " High school". Clicks, Geeks, cool kids, teachers pets, drama, and dating drama. Things don't change because for the most part, people never change.

Neuschwanstein Castle

This is just one of the many sights, my wife and I are very excited about seeing. We're still deciding between a 17 day and a 12 day trip. We just don't know if we could be away from home for over two weeks, so 12 might be our only true option. Wir gehen nach Deutschland !!!

2005 and still alive

Wow it's 2005, in a few months I'll be 25 (and then I can finally pay less for car insurance). The funny thing is, I never thought I'd make it this far. Part of the reason that I blew off high-school was that I didn't think I'd be alive this long. I just always figured that some how, some way, I'd be shot or hit by a car or maybe even beaten to death. ( I was a happy child )
But now I can easily picture, myself, old. Rocking chair, false teeth, Grandchildren, and stories about

When I was a kid computer screens where only Green and Black

People complain all the time about growing old, they say " All life is, is you grow old and then you die." But that's not true.Only if your lucky, will that happen. Growing old is a privilege, we all know someone that was denied that privilege. So be happy, with every ache and pain, and every lost or grey hair, that your still here to experience it, consider the alternative.
