Halloween Halloween ...what to be
As always at this time of year I start to fret about what I am going to be for halloween only to wait utnil the last minute to decide and make it with pure shoddiness and lot of duct tape and safety pins. The best laid plans always get pushed to the side for the last minute "great idea". My only 2 real requirements usually are that involves short shorts and glitter...we'll see what comes up this year! i love thking about it though. So many fun ideas so few days a year to wear costumes

Wll Whitney Be Back?
So Whitney released her new album on my birthday which seemed like a good sign for me and for Whit, like I really want her to come back and wow the world. But sadly this first single is just really not memorable/danceable/or that good. It makes me sad cuz I really thought she was gonna come back from her cracked out/whacked out/bobby brown loving/craziness and be a huge star again. I was starting to doubt that but then I was cleaning out Nonna's attic with (e:paul) and my mom the other day and saw tihs on the cover of one of the 8,000 issues of Famiglia Cristiana that my grandparents saved and figured its a sign she is back. The weird part of many of these magazines is I swear that the person the cover is not actually in any story in the magazine. I know i dopn't really read italian that well but i should be able to tell if any of the stories mention Whitney Houston and I swear they did not. This is not an isolated case. I swear they just put anything on the cover even if there is no story about it. Well here is her cover, and here's hoping she is on her way back!

Now she will never be back. :/ She was just 48.

It looks like an 8-step quantified guide to becoming a "successful E-donna" - whatever the hell that is (like an internet whore?)

Man, I LOVE Whitney's voice. Thank goodness some sense has come into her life. Let's hope she does get past her weird phase of no-good life.

Roosters Can't Get Gay Married
Is this for real? What do you think? Unfortunately I think it is prolly serious!

tinypliny - 09/23/09 00:44
AHA! Just solved the personal vicious-cycle mystery of why I liked the tune so much but cringed at the content - and then hated the fact that the tune was so catchy!

This reminds me of the genius that is Chris Thile! :::link:::

Wow. Now I can purely hate this because Chris Thile is AWESOMENESS EXPONENTIATED compared to this trash!

Yeah, you can point fingers and wonder whether I escaped from the loony bin now. :-)
james - 09/19/09 22:55
Hm, according to City Councilman Demon Smith, two hens will lay eggs that will hatch!
libertad - 09/19/09 20:06
How could he have never seen two gay cocks?
ladycroft - 09/19/09 14:57
wow - where did you find that gem? i'm sure it's some bible belt preacher and his wife.
james - 09/19/09 11:59
An odd thing about the paleolithic right is that their beliefs are so strange, their logic so flawed, their distance from reality so great that actual belief is almost indistinguishable from parody.
tinypliny - 09/19/09 11:09
Not to mention its got insularity and boorishness bannered all over it.
tinypliny - 09/19/09 11:08
This is ridiculous. The concept of "marriage" is a cultural construct. Equating or contrasting it with a biological construct of reproduction is quite silly.

Its a nice catchy tune, but that doesn't make it worthwhile.
metalpeter - 09/19/09 11:06
I think it is very real. It is kinda based of the saying (yes I have heard it many times) "God Made Adam & Eve not Adam and Steve". It does seem to follow the same thought pattern and they even end the song by saying something along the lines of I don't care what you say it isn't normal or something like that.

Vote For Kearns
I can't vote in Buffalo because I don't live there. I just want to say I think you should vote for Mickey Kearns, I can't so I will put my support in here. Ok i don't have much to say about it but just do it, just trust me, its the right choice.
libertad - 09/16/09 13:46
Grrr. I just found out about Brown winning. I do want to point out that I didn't vote for Kearns because he wasn't Brown. If I didn't like Kearns I would have stayed home.

That is an excellent quote (e:tiny)

(e:james), How are we supposed to know what is on the ballot before we go to voting booth? I looked at votesmart.org and erie county board of elections and found nothing. They told me at the polling place that I should just watch the news but is this the only way of finding out what is going to be on ballot?
james - 09/16/09 07:57
I had a bunch of reasons to vote for Kearns. He is a good man, an excellent councilmember, and had a bunch of good, common sense ideas for the city.

But the point is pretty moot now.
tinypliny - 09/15/09 22:33
heh, your comment about Brown reminds me of this quote by Hitchens (about Falwell) :::link:::
libertad - 09/15/09 20:32
I don't think that Kearns is so great it is just more that Brown is so full of shit. I think that is why his name is Brown. Sorry but it is just how I feel...
lilho - 09/15/09 16:41
why is this guy so great??? no love for brown? i think all the mayors there have sucked for some time now...

I love my new bike
I love having a bike, thanks (e:pmt). I have been loving biking around though I really need a helmet so i don't die and a chain so i can get off sometimes. I really should have gotten one sooner but i always thought i might never use it but I totally do and i totally love it!
lilho - 09/12/09 22:32
somehow i don't picture you biking around, unless it is one of those three wheeled bikes that has a giant basket and a horn. but good for you, enjoy it while you can until the snow rolls in. this comment sounds mean i think, but its not intended that way. enjoy the biking.
