Well, I asked when i got in this morning, and the district manager, somewhat alarmed, called the other store, who became rather confused, but maintained that no, they had not been robbed.
So it's likely that there was some other disturbance in that parking lot-- kids fighting, or somesuch. It's not unfeasible that it could've been a robbery-- there have been eight or nine in the last fifteen years, says the boss man-- but it just happens that last night, it wasn't.

Whew-- you had me pretty scared this morning!
tinypliny - 09/03/09 10:20
Could have been a homicide or you know, a celebrity that people at the police station really really liked - how do you know it was a robbery?

The new roof

It's looks pretty good - at least from the ground. I am excited to
paint the house brown to match. The blue and pink looks do bad now
but it will look great in brown.

They did the flat top last night in the dark and that part is pretty
blah. It didn't get a tearoff on top, so Terry and I's old roof job
is underneith and the flashing is pretty horrible on the chimney
including this one spot which is just open to the sky. Ironically,
it's over the very same spot that leaked and had us call the roofers
in the first place.

We didn't finish paying them yet, so hopefully they will fix it.

Why not paint the walls red? Red goes well with brown. Painting everything brown might make it a bit dull - no?

Bees eat frosting
Category: food
In the parking lot behind hsbc on main street, where I get most of my
roadkill pics, someone left a cake. On Monday it was almost a whole
cake with frosting and bees in the box. The bees ate most of the
frosting and now it's frostingless.

I think you are just biased against bees. I mean a future roadkill organism can have easily crept up and licked the frosting off, no?

I have to wonder at your route from home to office. Really, I think you cross that barren little piece of land for the sole purpose of gawking and capturing these gems. LOL. It is not at all enroute to your office from home!

Rock Harbor Commons Yard - Sick Mold
Category: mold
We attended Silent exchange yesterday at the Rock Harbor Commons - Yard. I cannot believe the amount of mold in the building. The word is, they are turning it into dorms. I hope they meant they are only turning the part across the street into dorms and that they will knock down that building.
You can see pictures of building on (e:jim,49658)

I thought I was going to die.

Talk to Newell from Buffalo Rising he is the "Project Liason" whatever that means. It looks like a money making scheme, kinda like dorms are for universities. the cheapest they rent out an 800 sq ft residence (shared by 4 students) is $2,700/semester. Which works out to $625/month. What a scam. I hope it flops.
paul - 08/30/09 11:03
It was so disgusting. Whoever thinks it is appropriate to turn a building that is that infested with mold into student housing is sick. The one side of the building is completely open to the environment and had dirt piled like 10 feet high against the outside wall.

The smell of mold is outrageous. After you leave the building you can taste it.

It was inside the warehouse you can see the outside of in my journal: :::link:::

It's on Niagara Street near Forest, they're gutting the buildings and turning them into student housing.
tinypliny - 08/30/09 01:22
Where was this? Pan's labyrinth?!
jim - 08/30/09 00:45
Inside a building that also had trees growing out of it's walls.
oda - 08/30/09 00:14
nasty, nasty boys!
tinypliny - 08/30/09 00:12
Ugh, I would die as well. I can't tolerate mould. It psychologically affects me.
lilho - 08/29/09 22:19
did you end up living? i want to see you on monday...
hodown - 08/29/09 21:53
Bitch please. I've seen worse than that in NYC hotel rooms (at fancy hotels).
