Dirty attic, dirty mouth

The attic was so fucking disgusting from the roof tear off. I wish I
had put down drop clothes so bad but I didn't so I spent some serious
time sweeping and vacumming.

My friend Robert said it would be bad but I guess I just didn't
understand how bad. Maybe these pictures will help someone else
getting a roof tear off job prepare better.

I wore my pro gas mask which usually works but I forgot to shave
first. I figured how bad could it be. Well, it was pretty bad. Look
what happens to my teeth and lungs. Even the hangy think in my throat
was black. Its especially fun because its not just wood and dirt
dust, there is also a bunch of fiberglass from the insulation. I can
only imagine how black my lungs are now. Not to mention that my
allergies skyrocketed. I am sensing it might be a soir du benedryl.

That dust got on your teeth? Disturbing.

Why couldn't the roofers have cleaned this up as well??
ladycroft - 09/09/09 05:19
eeeewe! scary.

Ok I though you were being dramatic, but holy shiz. If that doesn't give you black lung I don't know what will.

At the dentist

I am over at advantage dentistry on elmwood where I got xrays and
found I have no cavities. They actually take my insurance and there
was no copayment unlike the last two dentists which made me pay up
front and submit the bill later for reimbursement.

Don't you think that this dental care advertisement with the white
haired woman would have been much better with the pamphlet holder on
the right side so that you could see her face and especially her teeth?

Maybe that's the "before photo". Maybe the woman on the right is the "after photo". You know, she not only got perfectly shiny pearlies but also became younger.
tinypliny - 09/09/09 15:19
Yeah, poor design. You should have noted down the pamphlet designer's name.

Naples roofing is awesome

At first I was nervous because they gave us the lowest bid but the
workers were great, cleaned up, and were really friendly.

They fixed the two minor mistakes today. I went up there with them
and the one dude was actually running up and down from the top to the
gutters and back. Then he ran out and was sitting on a dormer. I was
jealous of his bravery a bit, although the other roofers agreed our
roof was especially scary. As the one put it, it wouldn't be a trip
to the hospital but a trip to the morgue.

Next I need to reshingle some and paint...

I really like that new roof - looks shiny and stately. :)
leetee - 09/05/09 00:17
thanks, i was going to ask who did it. we are in the market for a complete tear off roof...
james - 09/04/09 15:00
Pretty pretty!
libertad - 09/04/09 14:59
That looks really good and I personally think the paint looks good too.

Robbery at deleware camera

I am embatassrd to post this lame picture. It lame because I am

Well, I asked when i got in this morning, and the district manager, somewhat alarmed, called the other store, who became rather confused, but maintained that no, they had not been robbed.
So it's likely that there was some other disturbance in that parking lot-- kids fighting, or somesuch. It's not unfeasible that it could've been a robbery-- there have been eight or nine in the last fifteen years, says the boss man-- but it just happens that last night, it wasn't.

Whew-- you had me pretty scared this morning!
tinypliny - 09/03/09 10:20
Could have been a homicide or you know, a celebrity that people at the police station really really liked - how do you know it was a robbery?

The new roof

It's looks pretty good - at least from the ground. I am excited to
paint the house brown to match. The blue and pink looks do bad now
but it will look great in brown.

They did the flat top last night in the dark and that part is pretty
blah. It didn't get a tearoff on top, so Terry and I's old roof job
is underneith and the flashing is pretty horrible on the chimney
including this one spot which is just open to the sky. Ironically,
it's over the very same spot that leaked and had us call the roofers
in the first place.

We didn't finish paying them yet, so hopefully they will fix it.

Why not paint the walls red? Red goes well with brown. Painting everything brown might make it a bit dull - no?
