So recently I have been thinking about starting a blog topic of Issues. Some of them might be race, homosexuality, the internet, abortion, adoption of kids not like you, gun rights, and maybe a few other things. I don't know what all the topics would be. What the blog will be is (hopefully) just a paragraph or maybe two that gives my view on that topic. Often when someone blogs and you leave a comment you are reacting to what they said and what you believe is reflected in that but it doesn't really say how you feel about a certain Topic. Some of our beliefs come from what we are taught, grow up, and see how things work in the real world. Because of that how we feel or think about something can change. For example you might be all for abortions and think they should be legal and then find out that your best friend when they where born almost got aborted, that could change your view drasticly.
I know the love of star wars isn't really an Issue but it fits into being a fanatic. A lot of people think that there where 6 Star Wars movies but depending on how you count that isn't true. By my count there are 7 because of that all Ewoke movie and I heard there was another spin off some place. Not to mention the original 3 came out in those versions with all the added effects and scenes so you could get the count up to ten. Then you have the clone wars but they so far are only animated cartoons. They make comic books and movies and all kinds of stories that I never got into. But I'm still a fan. I have posters and some merch like figures on my wall and M&Ms and things like that. But It is very easy to go from I'll get this cool thing to I have to spend my entire paycheck on it and go overboard like dressing up as a stromtrooper and having your girlfriend dress up as lia and stuff like that, and putting it on line as a video with ewoks in the background.
I think the reason for being a fanatic though makes sense in this case. There are so many great ideas and themes in the movie like good vs bad, tryreny, abuse of power, fighting for freedom, love, companion ship, being rebelous, the entire Jedi thing. So there really are if you examine it a lot of reasons why Star Wars appeals to people. That doesn't even get into all the characters, action, special effects, cool costumes and great music.
Here is an example of someones dedication to star wars going to far that I saw on Yahoo today. Maybe it is more then just one person going to far. But maybe for the people at the church it isn't maybe the Jedi Beliefs kinda line up some with theirs so they kinda line up some so they aren't that nuts or maybe it is just fun.
'Darth Vader' spared jail in Jedi church attacks

HOLYHEAD, Wales - A man who dressed up as Darth Vader, wearing a garbage bag for a cape, and assaulted the founders of a group calling itself the Jedi church was given a suspended sentence Tuesday.

Arwel Wynne Hughes, 27, attacked Jedi church founder Barney Jones - aka Master Jonba Hehol - with a metal crutch, hitting him on the head, prosecutors told Holyhead Magistrates' Court.
He also whacked Jones' 18-year-old cousin, Michael Jones - known as Master Mormi Hehol - bruising his thigh in the March 25 incident, prosecutors said.
The two cousins and Barney Jones' brother, Daniel, set up the Church of Jediism, Anglesey order, last year. Jedi is the faith followed by some of the central characters in the "Star Wars" films.
The group, which claims about 30 members, says on its Web site that it uses "insight and knowledge" from the films as "a guide to living a better and more worthwhile life."
"We all love the films and what they stand for. Obviously some people are going to laugh about it," the Wales on Sunday newspaper quoted Barney Jones as saying last month. "But a lot of people do take it seriously."
Unfortunately for Hughes, his March attack was recorded on a video camera that the cousins had set up to film themselves in a light saber battle.
"Darth Vader! Jedis!" Hughes shouted as he approached.
Hughes claimed he couldn't remember the incident, having drunk the better part of a 2 1/2-gallon (10-liter) box of wine beforehand.
"He knows his behavior was wrong and didn't want it to happen but he has no recollection of it," said Hughes' lawyer, Frances Jones.
District Judge Andrew Shaw sentenced Hughes to two months in jail but suspended the sentence for one year. He also ordered Hughes to pay $195 to each of his victims and $117 in court costs.
In the 2001 United Kingdom census, 390,000 - 0.7 percent of the population - listed Jedi as their religion.
Hey if anyone feels like chiming in go ahead, maybe there are more details I should know that shows these guys just love star wars like me an are not fanatics or maybe I'm one also but not expressing that I am here.
I'm so glad the Bandits won it has been so long since they have won a championship. Recently they made it to the finals and lost. People have often said Buffalo has never won a championship I I would have to Correct them The Bandits won Two then it became Three and Now it will be four. People don't consider it a Major Sport but I disagree. Hockey has all ways been a major sport even when unless you lived in an NHL city you couldn't find it on TV. I won't attack bowling but I'm sorry Poker shouldn't be on ESPN it is a game there isn't anything athletic and not a sport I don't care if you have athletes on I'm sure if Lacrosse isn't on Put on Indoor or outdoor soccer or some thing. In any event I think it is great the Bandits won, and hope they can keep most of this team together for next year. On a side note I like that the win is forcing the news to cover it.
It feels good to actually win a championship in this town. That is a sweet shot of Johnnie.
