Estrip Dinner Night At Casa Di Pizza
Category: food
October 10th, Wednesday at 7pm

Note: The Sabres and the Bills are not playing this night.

(E:strip) dinner at JJ's Casa di Pizza, at 744 Elmwood (with Parking on Hodge). Sign up in the comments of this entry, so we know how to make reservations. If you are unsure of making it, sign up but let us know that too.

Count on paying $12 or so dollars per person (more for alchohol), and please bring cash. There will be an assortment of pizza and wings ordered, but if you need something in particular, the full menu will be available.

Afterwards there will be a meeting at 24 Linwood to talk about (e:strip) for those who are interested in lending a hand.

The last dinner was a lot of fun, with 16 people - check out the photos, and join us this time around!

Don't forget to sign up!

Blogtoberfest At The Terminal
Category: blogging
Well, it looks like Buffalo is having its second annual Blogtoberfest. Maybe, we should all go and meet the other Buffalo bloggers outside of estrip. I just wish it wasn't at the central terminal.

metalpeter - 09/21/07 19:12
Hey if you guys are going I would tag along, if for no other reason then to try and get pictures of the Central Terminal. What time should I get to the 24?
mrmike - 09/20/07 22:41
I'm in!
zobar - 09/20/07 18:22
Ya me and (e:dragonlady7) will be there, and I really can't tell how serious she is about getting naked. There's only one way to find out! Go...

- Z
mrdeadlier - 09/20/07 16:58
If I wasn't at a wedding I would totally go and show support. Sigh, it seems like I've always got something going on when things like this come up. :(
dragonlady7 - 09/20/07 13:18
Yo people, I am serious
We have to go dressed as (e:strip)pers.
Strippers! Geddit?
HAH!
I am brilliant.

...
I may have to do it. Please don't make me do this alone, people. Someone else do this with me.
janelle - 09/20/07 12:49
Mmmhh...Drew and I might go.
orchidiamond - 09/20/07 12:26
I'm going to be in Syracuse for a bachlorette party this weekend...
fellyconnelly - 09/16/07 19:12
sounds interesting. i'd love to go, but it is my dear ol granny's 80'th birthday bash and i've been selected to make the meatloaf. no seriously.
paul - 09/16/07 18:24
Thats a great idea. I still have the orange banner from (e:enknot)'s birtdhay bash. So who is going to go?
zobar - 09/16/07 16:38
(e:james) said it, not me. I think we need to go as a large dense group with a sign sticking up that says '(e:strip)' - sort of like each states' mob at a national convention. I think this would be the most succinct way of assuring (e:strip) is not overlooked as perhaps the largest local blogging community.

james - 09/16/07 11:56
Like, what sort of costume could they be looking for? Like, should we dress up as Buffalo Rising? You know, the costume would be a staff writer in rags being crushed by the dead weight of a bunch of BR magazines.
metalpeter - 09/16/07 10:42
I admit I'm a little cynical so I do have to wonder If you wear a costume do you get free beer or is only admission free. I also wonder why they are encouraging costumes about a month before Halloween. That could be very interesting. The central Terminal is one of those places that I have seen from a distance but don't really know where it is. I do think that it is a good idea, and could be a great time.

An Buffalo Update
Category: buffalo
I updated the journals so that the word count is stamped with " Buffalo, NY" if your zip code matches 14***. If lied on your signup or if you didn't fill out your zip code when signing up, then this will not show up. Send Paul an email if you want to give your real zip code and get the stamp.

Bug Fix
Category: updates
Sorry (e:zobar), it wasn't the RSS feed but I will get to that this week. It is the search box. If you searched for something an done of the journals that came up had a sound in the journal it was fucking up the script, and that is why sometimes, the search results would open in the search popup but it is all good now.

More estrip.org statistics
Category: statistics
I posted some statistic data for the site about the peeps who have written the most, posted and received the most comments. And blogs by temperature and age statistics.

image

For the most prolific estrip.org authors list you can see them listed by rank with a link to their latest title. Some peeps on the list haven't even written since 2005 which means that some of the new peeps can have an edge on stealing their spots.

image
jenks - 09/03/07 20:40
Hmm, and I've written the second most. Well, I guess mom was write 'you have to WRITE mail in order to GET mail!"

Paul can you do views stats? maybe even an average- total views/# journals?

Ooh! Put that in a graph on the front page, along with #comments-
most viewed journals for the day!
jenks - 09/03/07 20:37
holy crap, I've received the second most comments?!
Wow... thanks? I think?
metalpeter - 09/03/07 19:18
If I noticed things correctly if (e:libertad) makes no more comments and gets 6 more comments on his journal he will have 666 on both. I think it is a cool idea to list site stats "every so often" I'm not sure what other stats should be used but what might be cool is to have a word count tottal for each person or even the top 50 then also have a word count on comments for each person also. But I don't do the programing so I don't know how possible that would be.
paul - 09/03/07 18:21
Ya, apparently around 75 degress is the most optimal posting temperature.
joshua - 09/03/07 17:39
This is a nice statistical breakdown - I thought I would be high on the comments received list but I'm also on the top 10 for comments written - I'm surprised by that! I take long stretches and don't pay much attention to (e:strip) sometimes.
fellyconnelly - 09/03/07 15:44
i love the posts by temperature list...
