matthew - 08/06/07 14:07
Awesome! I'm in.
fellyconnelly - 08/03/07 23:15
sure! that just might be our first official estrip visit.
just a warning, though, i'm not as witty/smart/funny in person. you have been warned.

oh and james, you are too right. sometimes i need grease, but no love for bobs big boy.
james - 08/03/07 19:42
I want to agree with you Felly, but I must say I have no love for Warren Buffett and Bob's Big Boy buffets. Both are so greasy.
jim - 08/03/07 19:32
I'll take that as a yes for you and Lauren!
fellyconnelly - 08/03/07 19:25
i enjoy buffets of all kinds...
indian buffets, jimmy buffets... ya know.. the basics...
jim - 08/03/07 17:04
Sorry Drew, that you can't make it.

Everyone else - see you there :)

Mrmike, I think we'll still be there, everyone is always late anyways!
mrmike - 08/03/07 16:43
Cool, if you're still eating at 8, I'm in
tinypliny - 08/03/07 15:46
I think I can make it too, if I start walking early - to make sure I burn everything *before* I start the gluttony.
carolinian - 08/03/07 14:21
Sounds good. I'm up for it.

Good Year Blimp
Category: photos
Sorry for the poor picture, it's heavily cropped.

image

The Good Year blimp buzzed our house yesterday, apparently it was landing in the middle of the West Side? Or so it seemed.

mrdeadlier - 08/02/07 22:21
huh, well i don't like either of those reasons -- neither is sexy enough. i'm going to make something else up instead and just keep telling it to myself until i believe it.
metalpeter - 08/02/07 17:29
I have heard two separate stories. On the Buffalo News Picture page it said it was headed to Prior Avation (or how ever it is spelled). Today on the WEDG "The EDGE" I heard it mentioned that it was heading to Montreal there is a big NASCAR race of some kind up there. I wish I could remember all the details.
mrdeadlier - 08/02/07 12:50
why was it even in buffalo to begin with?
fellyconnelly - 08/02/07 00:16
it was overhead when i came out of wegmans...

then i came home and looked up and it was... overhead!

it was following me....

i don't beleive you jim. i, too think it goes to your secret locker.
i'll go a step further and assert that you are a russian spy. where is the microfilm???
jim - 07/31/07 09:02
It's got a little display, and when I press its button, it gives me a number that lets me log into my online banking. It's a different number every time - I am not sure how it's generated.
tinypliny - 07/31/07 01:27
What is a bank security dongle thing? Is it used to remotely open and close your ultra-secret locker at the Main Street HSBC?

Camping Recommendations
Category: nature
Does anyone know of anywhere to camp within a few hours of Buffalo that:

1. Allows dogs at the camp site
2. Isn't too crazy packed

We're thinking of going away for a day or two next weekend, but are stumped.
libertad - 07/31/07 09:00
I like Hamlin Beach State Park outside of Rochester. They allow dogs on selected campsites. You may have trouble getting a reservation? reserveamerica.com is how to book. If you are interested let me know and I'll see if I can find out which campsite I stayed at cause it was nice.

:::link:::

That is a pic of devil's nose. It is illegal to go up there, but I used to do it all the time. Some people get busted, but everytime I went there it seemed as if i were in paradise. Hamlin Beach is on Lake Ontario, so if you don't mind a bit of the o'l ECOLI than you can take a dip.

Also Dansville is sure bet
jim - 07/30/07 11:09
I think we will do Alleghany - they still have cabins available in late August.
drew - 07/29/07 21:04
Allegeny National Forest is cool with dogs, but is a little bit crowded.
jenks - 07/29/07 17:39
Well.... I know the rescue that I work with is having a get-together in Erie, PA in a couple weeks, at this place. :::link:::
I haven't really checked it out yet, but I certainly assume it's dog friendly if they're meeting there. Not sure about camping in tents, but I think they have cabins or something. And I don't know about crowds... but it's about 1 1/2 hr away....
