At our new place we are sharing the internet connection of the guys downstairs, but the wireless reception is completely painful. It's totally out for about 5 minutes out of every hour, and the rest of the time is really slow - like dialup slow, plus really long latencies. I just ordered a wireless bridge and am praying that that will be my salvation. If not I'll have to buy them a giant antenna to stick on their access point.
Also speaking of utilities, I've been cursing my morning showers because the water hasn't been very hot, but it turned out (e:james) had just turned the thermostat on the water heater way down. At least that is an easy fix :)

Oh hell no Carolinian.
(e:Jim) may work there but he is not getting involved in those sick Roswell inbreeding orgies.
well... not unless I can come to.

I've been working on a flash card site for learning foreign languages, and I'm really looking forward to making it work with the iPhone. It's the perfect size and seems like a good excuse to try to get (e:james) let me buy one :) (yeah right)

OK and now I spent like 4 hours wondering why my apache rewrite rules were behaving so erratically and of course it was because i forgot to set ''RewriteEngine on'' but strangely some of the rules still were working just fine.
All of the stuff I know about Apache I have learned painfully. It's just that sort of a beast.

Right right - I still don't get it. I had a list of about a dozen re-write rules, and only the first one didn't work when I didn't turn on the rewrite engine. That was just maddening.

It never ceases to amaze me how the folks at Apache were able to take something so entirely simple and basic as the HTTP protocol and turn it into something so needlessly complex and forbidding as httpd.conf.

Allentown was nice this year... not as brutally hot and crowded as usual but maybe it was just that we started earlier.

I havn't been to Underground in over two years. If you do remember me from there, I was the sad drunk one who was giddy when they played a Flock of Seagulls song that wasn't 'I Ran'.
But have been to half a dozen claremont parties. I was the giddy one, with a Flock of Seagulls song no where near my head.
I also gesture wildly with my hands, making me both gay and Italian.

The is in fact (e:james), and if you recognize him it is probably from an estrip party or a Claremont party.

I think you two have both been at the same (e:strip) party before but not sure. Nice pictures from "The Art Fest" I will put up pictures on Sunday hopefully. I ran into 6 (e:peeps) But I didn't see you. It seems like that it wasn't as crowded as some years. But the allen part is allways packed because the street is so thin. That being said I think often saturday isn't as big as sunday sometimes. Plus you don't have the influx of some of the people who go to MIA and then go look at "the festival".

ahh, i love the easy fix. When I first moved into my house, i kept running out of hot water, which I didn't understand. I mean I don't take SHORT showers, but I'm not in there for half an hour, either. And there used to be THREE girls living there, and I can't imagine they'd tolerate hot water that runs out after 15 min. finally went downstairs, and found that the hot water heater was turned way down. yay.
