jim - 06/04/07 10:34
James, it's the Italian in you. No escape!
james - 06/03/07 19:46
Apparently, in every photo of myself I must be gesturing wildly.

Does that make me Gay or Italian?
jim - 06/03/07 19:21
Overcast days are really nice for photos of people. Nice mellow light with no harsh shadows.
mk - 06/03/07 19:19
hmmm well THAT'S interesting?!?!?!?! :)
jenks - 06/03/07 18:25
Yay! (e:libertad)!
fellyconnelly - 06/03/07 17:50

I didn't take many photos...
metalpeter - 06/03/07 09:49
I like that picture of the sugar glider, I will admit I kinda forgot about them.
paul - 06/02/07 19:56
Those cupcakes are so awesome.
fellyconnelly - 06/02/07 19:30

jim - 06/02/07 18:42

Artvoice
Category: buffalo
Apparently Artvoice has published one of my friend's photos without credit or compensation.

Does anyone know what she can do to get in touch with someone over there who will make this right?
paul - 06/01/07 21:36
This type of thing is one of the major reasons I limited the image size on estrip. No one could ever really print/steal anything at 400 x 300 resolution, yet it is enough to tell a story.
jim - 06/01/07 19:27
What?
metalpeter - 06/01/07 19:04
There is one very important detail that is being left out here that is a big factor. Who Submited the photo. If the person who took it did then they should get credit for it. However if it was a picture that was posted on the web first then often the oringinal photographer loses credit because the site can have rights to the pictures. I have no real advice other then to say that artvoice does have offices and must have a phone number you can call.

Urban Roots
Category: buffalo
Has anyone been to Urban Roots - 428 Rhode Island? it's like a co-op for plants.

Also (not at Urban Roots), found this crazy cool watermelon 'Moon and Stars' - this is what it actually looks like:

Urban Roots is doing a big plant swap this Saturday 10am to 2pm - people dig up stuff from their gardens that they don't want / need (not weeds of course), and bring it in and people can trade or take what the need.

leetee - 05/31/07 16:58
Urban Roots? Damn, we already planted our maters... and got potted flowers for the porch. Still, i will check it out. Thanks for the heads up. :O)
jenks - 05/31/07 16:16
funny, I just saw the sign for that place yesterday. I was just thinking about how I want to grow tomatoes and basil this summer and maybe a couple other herbs, in pots on my back porch. (that's about as ambitious as I get)- and was thinking I'd go to home depot for them, but that sounds way better. Thanks!
jsl - 05/31/07 14:10
Cool... I just ran into a woman I know who is on the board of directors at Urban Roots. I didn't even know that they were starting a co-op. I'll have to stop by and do shopping for the garden behind my house there. Thanks for posting this!
james - 05/31/07 13:30
They have the infamous Russian Black tomatoes and the Green Zebras. Both look awesome. I am going to save my schekles and pick up a few flats of crazy plants.

I'd love to be able to format my posts with either Markdown or Textile:

You can make things *bold* or _italic_ or "linked up":http//example.com really easily.

theecarey - there was a great version of this image, but instead of a girl and a pony, it was john kerry and the presidency. But I can't quit seem to find it now.
jim - 05/31/07 13:51
I figured I'd start off with that to make it clear I don't expect anything.

LOVE that picture. "not yours"; keeps me giggling..
jim - 05/31/07 11:02
Paul - don't know if you are still paying attention to this post, but what about allowing users to mark their (e:strip) account private, which would mean that all their journal pages would include a no-index meta tag to keep private stuff off of Google/Yahoo?
jim - 05/30/07 22:29
Sorry Mike!
mike - 05/30/07 20:46
did anyone else get excited by the title of this post cuz they thought it was about a great sale?
jim - 05/30/07 15:37
It's OK :)
paul - 05/30/07 15:20
I doubt I will switch to use another markup system as I have used this one in many systems and my users are generally familiar with it.

Gosh, I hate to be such a downer on change but I have used this system for years and have added lots of new options, but the chances of switching to another system is very low. I could add other specific options if you want.

The newer version of my textBling code (what estrip uses) has support for tables and lists. I could opensource that instead!?
