As someone said on the macrumors forum, "Great specs, same price, im loving it! " This means that once I get it my life can return to normal and I can become an even more productive programer/designer. I can finally go back to 3D design which will in turn let me make lots of fun icons for my projects. I will also be able to check windows and mac/linux all on the same machine. It's like a web designers dream come true.

I am so curious what the LED backlit display will be like. The only thing I am kind of disappointed that the system looks the same as the old one. I was hoping for some reason it would be shiny brown. To bad it couldn't come with a new operating system. Guess I'll have to wait until October for that.
The iMacs remain conspicuously un-upgraded. Maybe they'll get new enclosures?
i know people are doing brown [the zune... hahah hohoho... ] but it just seems very un-apple to me. But jun 29?! How did I miss that announcement?! Thanks.
See, I told you to wait. :)
If you want a new operating system, one option you have is to pay the $500 to join Apple's developer program, which gets you a preview copy of Leopard (the next OS in beta) plus $500 off a macbook pro that you get from Apple's developer purchase program. So in other words, you pay the same amount of money if you go through the developer program, and you end up with next-generation stuff you can test estrip and roswell stuff against. You'll also get the latest updates the current OS and, I'll have to double check on this, I think you also get a copy of os x tiger server.
You left out the best part - up to 4GB of memory.
OWC has a 2gb stick for $120.00 - that seems almost too cheap to be true.
