The love that never shuts up
Category: vacation
Lesbian Straight guy thing.
While sick today I was reading pop culture articles instead of programing for once and came across this article written by a lesbian about the bond between straight guys and lesbians Call me closed minded but I always kind of thought lesbians hated men. I guess I was wrong. She also mentions the lesbian shift from owning cats to owning dogs in the 90s. I never thought about that either. My favorite part of the article was her way of describing the hetero-female homo-male relationship as, "The love that never shuts up."

San Francisco recap
I still cannot believe (e:jacob) was there and we did not see each other.

(e:matthew) really likes escargot
image

I really like everything else
image

This fish was so fucked up. I guess they all flip like this as the grow up. Probably still tastes good with garlic butter.

Scared (e:matthew)

Here is some ice on Lake Erie as seen from the plane.

Those Pictures from the plane look pretty cool.
jacob - 04/03/07 01:45
It'd've been quite a coincidence to run into each other, avec 'What's Up Doc'. Good luck with your sugar gliders.
mike - 04/02/07 22:48
haha, the love that never shuts up. I love that! how perfect!
james - 04/02/07 22:32
Paul, maybe if you stopped your incessant programing and read important articles about pop culture you would know what the lesbian newsletters are saying about pet ownership.

Did you know that transsexuals recently went from ferrets to sugar gliders? That explains the smell of burning fur.

Or did you know that straight acting gay men are now really into Hello Kitty?

ya know, you really need to set your priorities straight Paul.

Strep Throat
Category: health
Well, my fourteen hour plane ride is over. I think I have strep throat now like I have never had before. My throat and lungs are on fire and I have a fever. Like it hurts to breathe and swallow. I hope I feel better in the morning, if not I am going to the doctor it feels so bad. I guess there is a rapid strep throat test now. Maybe there was always one and I just didn't have a doctor before. Argh.

I am so glad about being home in Buffalo. Big City life is really not for me. I think I would die of anxiety if I lived in San Francisco.
twisted - 04/02/07 19:19
What happened?
leetee - 04/02/07 11:58
Welcome Home! Feel better!
mrdeadlier - 04/02/07 08:57
bummer, hope you feel better!
chico - 04/01/07 21:00
Anxiety, air rage, and strep all in a 24 hour period? Sounds like you need an extra day of r-and-r.

Glad to hear that you guys are back in B-lo. Thanks (to (e:matthew) as well of course) for the pix, they were great fun. Loved the food shots.

I Hate Delta Airlines
Category: airlines
I would never fly Delta again, it is this sub-trash piece of shit airlines. The flights were terrible.

On the second flight, the seats going back function was broken which really sucks on an overnight flight. Although there was a movie we were not able to see the screen due to the way the cabin was configured. They didn't even bother giving us earphone ports for the sound.

But here is the kicker. I was annoyed when we arrived in Atlanta at 5am for our 9:20am flight to buffalo. But what made that totally unacceptable is that there is a 7am flight to Buffalo. Why would they have not put us on that flight when I requested a ticket from San Francisco online. It just doesn't make sense. So I asked the stupid fuck behind the counter if we could switch and he said no.

jacob - 04/01/07 14:16
I'm still in SF. I leave today @ 3pm. I'm leaving from Oakland, heard bad things about the lines, but we're leaving ourselves 2 hrs leeway. Hope that things are better.
paul - 04/01/07 08:56
Now it is fucking delayed. I am seriously getting air rage. I hope their is no interaction between me and a customer service agent right now or I may end up in Atlanta forever.
jacob - 04/01/07 07:10
That's no fun. It's too bad, but at least your trip looks like it was amazing. I hope my flight back is better. Wish me luck.

More Pics of San Francisco
Category: vacation
(e:matthew) and I spent most of yesterday in the park. We walked from Buena Vista park down Haight street to the golden gate park to the ocean and all the way back.

How did graffitti get in the electric or phone box or whatever this is.
image

Here is the city view from twin peaks.
image

This is where (e:twisted) often visits estrip.
image

This flower in the park smelled so sweet. I want to know what it is.
image

A pretty twisted branch.
image

Another pic of flowers at golden gate park. The viewfinder in my camera makes purple look blue so I thought it was not taking pictures of purple/pink things properly but it is. Just that they show up blue in the viewfinder.

This pine cone was so large and heavy. It is hard to tell in the pic.
image

This tree trunk over water was almost the death of me. I ran across it and then got scared and sat down as it was high up over water. Then I had to shimmy the rest of the way.
image

When we got to the beach we ate yummy food.
image

image

A cubby hole in the woods. I thought (e:terry) would like it.

Next to Buena Vista Park is this house that resembles ours accept for theirs is smaller but has a grander entrance.

tinypliny - 04/01/07 19:32
Gorgeous photos. I simply have to visit that humpty-dumpty city again! :)

Touring Around San Francisco
Category: vacation
Here are some of the pics from San Francisco in no particular order.

Okay, this one was before the trip. I finally cut off my hair. I feel free. There was a video of the process but unlike the old days of the smaller audience I think it is no longer appropriate.

image
image

there was this magazine on the plane with furniture in Nice, France that make syour whole house into a rock garden. I want it so bad.
image

image

(e:matthew) really did not like flying. The two hours of severe turbulence didn't help. I was liek the plane was going to rip apart. My neck hurt from the stress of thinking I was gonna die plus the jarring motion of it whipping around. We didn't even have service or sound for like 2 hours.

image
image

People bring their dogs and cats on planes in their backpacks nowadays. As an alergy sufferere this makes me mad.
image

I thought Dave Doyle would like this. I know he likes messed up signs.
image

This one too.

image

On Saturday (e:hodown) arrived
image

Here is the goldengate bridge

These boat houses cost more than double the cost of the mansion.

I love Aroma Tea Shop at 302 6th avenue

(e:hodown) already opened up a restaurant here.
image

Lombard street is twisty

Do you think the workers really get the $1 surcharge per plate? No where else had one.

From North of the bridge

This is the Palace of Fine Arts. I felt at home being a master of fine arts.

metalpeter - 03/29/07 18:22
Nice pictures, thanks for sharing them. There is nothing wrong with studding Bay Area alternative medicines and personely trying each one out to find out what the effects are.
twisted - 03/29/07 11:41
I think he had pressing pharmaceutical duties to attend to. Maybe next time he can substitute credit on an independent study of Bay Area alternative medicines, haha.
jenks - 03/29/07 01:36
btw why is poor (e:terry) not on this lovely vacation? poor baby. :(
deeglam - 03/28/07 23:25
i like your new haircut.
matthew - 03/28/07 22:28
I'm really having a much better time than paul's photos seem to show. :)
twisted - 03/28/07 22:21
Hey (e:terry) - I will try to return them in the same condition I received them in. you are sore missed here too, believe-you-me. next time?

p.s. - Hey (e:iriesara)!
mrmike - 03/28/07 13:34
The Delorean actually is a Porsche I think, but it must have an impressive flux capacitor to get up those steep SF hills.
joshua - 03/28/07 12:08
"SF minimum wage surcharge?" Haha - now that is a hustle that I haven't heard of yet. There's no way that the extra money is going to the workers, and most restaurants wouldn't bother with an idea like this - they simply increase the price of the plates directly.

I hope that you are enjoying your time!
paul - 03/28/07 11:51
Yes, I bought the blue oolong tea! Now, let's see how long it takes me to actually send it lol. That is the hard part.
iriesara - 03/28/07 11:01
Did you get me any tea you bastard? I sent you an email a couple weeks ago....blue people oolong, please...no really, I mean it.

Love to Matt Lisa & Jess!
terry - 03/28/07 00:15
Is that (e:lilho) in that last pic or what?

She musta left her double with me. Looks like all goes well in St. Frank's land, glad to see (e:matthew) recovered and (e:hodwn) alive! You are sore missed here, but at least we can live a bit vicariously through our journaling experiences. Hi (e:twisted), thanks for taking in my roustabouts for a while.
