Well day one took us through the CSS you'd learn in intro to web design. Hopefully, something more exciting will be on the plate for tommorow. This woman in front of me asked the man next to her what a 'div' is.

It's nice to find out most of the choices (e:enknot) and I have made are also backed by other industry professionals.

The food was tasty. I even got my own personal size chocolate cake. Somehow a pigeon got into the conference. I fed it some cookies.

These dolls are so damn freaky.

You mean to say that at a tech-related conference, somebody there had no idea what a div is? Christ, I know what that is and you'll never see me at a conference like that!

ruby on rails

This has become a ruby in rails promtion event. which is fine with me. The speaker just went off how hard php is to maintain because it's all speghetti code. The way he talked about it, it seemed like the only php code he saw was code that hobby programmers wrote for php3.

Woman1: this is crazy. It used to be an event that promoted microsoft. Didn't he see how many peole raised their hand for .net

woman2: well, I am going to try ruby if it's the future.

woman1: I don' think microsoft will support it. All our servers are microsoft, and it's too expensive to switch.

So I made it

I am at the san fran web design world conference now despite freaking out about thinking I was enrolled n the wrong connference.

They just asked developers what they are using. Hands went up and percentages you would expect for microsoft's .net, php,and java technology. What surprised me that only like two people raised their hands for rails. I was totally surprised.

Did you guys know tthat less than 5% of people publish more than once a week on their blogs?

Our (e:lilho) leave all her gossip magazines at our house. My favorite quote from one is this quote from Jake Gyllenhaal.. Who enjoys a pig being slaughtered. Is he being sarcastic?

I'm not exactly a PETA member, but when I was in DR I repeatedly witnessed pigs being killed in these little shacks along the sides of the highways. It was hard to watch, but in the USA they at least take into some consideration "humane" treatment of the animals. Who are we to judge though? Thats like being mad at the residents of a 3rd world country for having the temerity to find a way to feed itself.

Ted Nugent and his family only eat what he kills himself. I saw him on TV with his daughter, who is absolutely gorgeous, and he proudly stated: "Look at my daughter - she has never ate anything that I didn't hunt myself!" Well, maybe so, but if you are working with runway model genes you could have probably fed this girl dog food for 18 years and she would have been gorgeous.

"A" farm? Any random farm? Does he just knock on their home's front door, expecting free milk just because he's Jake Gyllenhaal? I can only imagine what goes through the family's mind when he lowers the glass from his lips and says, "So where do you kill the pigs?"
