The whole morning started out bad because the car was broken and at the shop. I ended up taking a cab which costs $20 one way. I guess I really should have taken the bus, as I am right now on the way home. It is snowing like crazy by the way.
Did you know the bus doesn't give change. How hard would it be to implement that?
So back to the orthodontist. What a waste of my freakin day. They pretty much just wanted to do cosmetic work on the teeth. My insurance won't cover it because its medically unnecessary and because I am over 19. So the real question is why did the dentist send me here if its not medically necessary?
I feel like I got caught up in some sort of referal scam.
Look at my photographs and what they are talking about changing. It is all cosmetic and costs an astounding $4200.
I am so angry right now. I fucking hate doctors and their stupid scams.

He said my tooth grinding and clenching is probably caused from job stress.
holy crap! i thought those pictures were from high school or something! what did you do?!?!?!
this is commenting on the wrong post but I don't feel like going farther back...I talked to Kimya, they won't be in upstate til the end of february and are booked through the end of january. Maybe another party then?
Apparently the Doctor's Nightguard :::link::: is a good product to prevent further teeth damage from grinding. I tried it and couldn't achieve a good fit, but maybe that's just me. At about $25 it certainly costs a lot less than a custom-fitted mouthguard for nighttime.
I wish there was an easy fix for grinding, but I think that getting regular, ample sleep and avoiding caffeine and other stimulants before bed are important, as is developing some sort of routine that allows you to relax and banish thoughts of work, mortgage, legal issues, family spats, etc. before hitting the rack.
Finally, your teeth don't look so bad to me. Those recommended braces are definitely cosmetic.
When is that picture from? You look so young!
