I am through...
with the waking up
and the driving to Cheektovegas
and the listening to short white-haired people
and pretending to give a damn about those fucking people
of not making food for my homies
and of not keeping a tidy house
and of not having a couple of lvl 60s ready for the expansion pack release next month
in other words...
i'm laid off

Truck?Category: help me please
Wondering if anyone possibly could spare the use of a truck for an hour or two. I need to take a large pile of trash to the dump. It's not gross or anything -mostly construction debris- and everything is bagged, plus we can line the bed with tarps-so it shouldn't make a mess at all. I just need to cart it from my house in the city to the transfer station off Ogden St. If it's a good size truck I imagine we could get it all in one-maybe two-trips.
It could involve compensation as well...
Thanks

Stingrays mutilated in wake of Crocodile Hunter's death
People are so stupid and petty. Like news of people killing and/or mutilating stingrays is ever gonna get around in the stingray community.
stingray1: oh we never should have killed that Irwin-dude
stingray2: yeah, sucks bigtime, now those humans all killing us all over
stingray1: why didn't George (stingray who killed Irwin) just go against all his natural instincts and not sting a big scary thing coming up on him suddenly
stingray2: yeah, it sucks bigtime, let's make a pact to never kill another human...
Good work defenders of humnaity. Now we'll never have that 4th death in recorded history from a stingray. We are saved.

Paint is oozing out my earsCategory: housing
I have become, to my amazement, a somewhat decent painter. Not in the portrait kind of painter way, but in the paint-stained guy on a ladder kind of way. I've been drawing near-straight lines all over the place: the ceiling, above the baseboard, etc. I've even started holding the brush like a pro, kinda nestled between thumb and forefinger like a pencil, the handle used solely for balance. And now...now, my hand hurts. But I have near-straight lines all over the place, and it's all worth it. Hopefully tomorrow is the last day of painting this year. Upstairs can wait till next year.
I actually emailed some friends today, which is amazingly rare. I have a communication problem. Basically, if I don't see you in person, I don't talk to you much. I just can't seem to get myself to actually do it. I put it off and off and off... My mother called on my birthday and I still haven't called her. She'll probably read this too (and if you do, thanks and I love ya) and think I have time for blogging but not for calling. Which, in a way, is true. Phones are my kryptonite. Especially cell phones. I didn't like phones when I could hear people fine, and now that they cut out and the battery runs low and you lose the damn things everywhere, I positively hate them. In fact, my phone was stolen about two months ago and I just haven't got a new one yet. Yup, that's right, I'm an American without a phone <gasp>. So anyways my friends will hopefully be happy to receive my semi-longish email, and I will be off the hook for another year or two <phew>.
Now it is time to nestle back with my 40, proper!
sidenote: I always have the urge to end with some time of salutation (is that correct here or is that just hello and not goodbye?). Like, cya fellas, or ciao, or till next time... are you a real person, audience? Do I need to say goodbye to you?

I like painting. Both kinds. I haven't picked up a brush to do any "fine arts" (in quotes, 'cause i just am not sure what i did would ever be considered fine art!) in many moons. When we were getting ready to sell our house in Knoxvegas, i picked up a roller or two then. Haven't painted a wall here yet though. If you need or want help painting parts of your place, let me know... i am a very willing helper! :O)

The house looks amazing. There's so much unrealized potential in the world. It's incredible what a coat of paint can do.
Belated Happy Birthday! It's all I can do to keep up with the five family member birthdays I have in May. And don't get me started about Christmas. Can't I just take a year off? Maybe I could catch up then.

Here's to fresh starts.
and if there is a epeep bike ride, it's a little tough to get to Tift, but not impossible. Did it once, and my thighs didn't speak to me for a week.
I hope with being laid off you at least worked long enough there so you get uneployment. I admit I have no idea how that works. If it is the "Real" kind of uneployment then think of it as a little break with time off untill they call you back. Someplaces never call anyone back and that isn't "really" being laid off. I would assume that it is nice to not have to go to work but at some time you will have to go back to work. I have never liked looking for a job. That being said there are many times at work where I have said "Man I wish they would Fire me, I could get 2/3 of my pay and be off all summer".
I so understand the dichotomy between not having a job and wanting the time off.
Hope the period of time you are laid off does not exceed the amount of time it takes you to begin being concerned about not having a job. Have fun being a house husband by day, party animal by night.
i was going to say i'm sorry but upon further reflection (and the reading of sundry comments) perhaps I should say congrats!!
Paul, it is probably the polite thing to do. Definitely not the most honest, as I felt it was a blessing to be out of my former job.
Why is everyone sorry for you. I am sorry for me for not being laid off.
Pfft - enjoy the vacation man. Don't stress out anymore... life is too valuable.
See you Sat.
:( Sorry to hear it terry.
we'll just have to be sure to get you nice and drunk tomorrow and get your mind off things.
But you have the right attitude. All that stupid "working" was just interfering with the important things. :)
We should still go for a bike ride. If you're home days, let's do it before it's too cold. I tried to go to the tifft nature preserve a couple weeks ago. Got as far as the marina and then didn't know which way to go so I went home.
Sorry to hear it bro. At least you will be able to get your druid to 60! I've been playing again, and I've been having a ball. See you saturday.
omg! i'm so sorry!
