Bea Arthur

Tall, deep-voiced American actress Beatrice Arthur, born Beatrice Frankel, is best known for her television work on the long-running series Maude and The Golden Girls, but she also occasionally appeared in films. Her most famous film is 1973's Mame in which she played Vera Charles, the role she originated on Broadway.

Major Radio Update

Testing is complete on the radio server.

If the radio is online you will see the radio box. under the last ten list and about the event calendar.

image

The name of the song currently playing shows up right inside the box. If you want to play the stream simply click on the song title.

I would suggest playing the stream with iTunes, however, you can use any player that plays streaming audio. See the (e:radio) journal's fav five list for instructions.

Please IM or email (e:paul) if this works for you and/or if you have questions.

How to Play the Radio

You can get to the radio by clicking on the Play E-radio link on the linklist or by clicking on this

Once you click on the link, the radio should open in whatever software you have set for streaming mp3.

If you don't have software, I suggest iTunes as it is free and I know it works. Plus it seems to be a pretty good player and has lots of highend sorting capability.

The Radio

The radio is on much of the time and not a single person listens to it. I suppose it just because there is no way to knwo when its on. Or maybe many of you have dial-up connections. Either way, without your help the radio is going to go away. Matthew and I are not capable of doing the radio. It least I think its obvious that we are not.

So if anyone has audio they want streamed or would like to host a show please contact us. We would be interested in playing anything.

It seems so wasteful to do nothing with such great technology.

After talking with paul, I (matthew) have decided to start a local community "radio" program. We are still talking about it and figuring out ideas, but I will be in contact with a lot of you elmwood-strippers for your info and maybe future radio involvement. I'll post soon and give more info.
