Radio Archives Added

To listen the the acrhives simply click on the e-radio archives link under the userPics.

We are going to start offering lots of downloadable original radio shows. All of our live broadcasts will be avaiable in the future. Currently, we have one test evening that is a little whacky. We were testing the software and were only allowed 1 min 30 sec recordings, so there are 20 of them.

Starting this week we will have several live shows on archive. The file names are based on the date of the recording, as well as, the number of recording that day.

If you would like a recording show of you own hosted within the archive. Please email me. If you have any questions send us an IM at "elmwoodradio"

SUNDAYNIGHTS at 9:00 EST on RADIO FREE ELMWOOD.

My Favorite Husband Lucy's first sitcom, starred Lucille Ball and Richard Denning as Liz and George Cooper, "two people who live together and like it!" George was a banker and Liz his zany wife, a character she would perfect a few years later on I Love Lucy. This funny series, written by I Love Lucy writers Jess Oppenheimer, Madelyn Pugh and Bob Carroll, Jr., came to CBS Radio in 1948 and ran until 1951.

SUSPENSE

image

WEEKNIGHTS at 10:00 EST

Aired 1942-1962
Suspense presented plays dealing with life and death situations, but themes were generally realistic, with occasional science-fiction exceptions. At its peak, Suspense was one of radio’s best. Film stars loved it. For the first few years the shows were introduced by “The Man in Black” originally played by Joseph Kearns. Its opening was one of radio’s best-remembered classics; “the hushed voice and the prowling step … the stir of nerves at the ticking of the clock … the rescue that might be too late, or the murderer who might get away … we invite you to enjoy stories that keep you in … Suspense…”

X MINUS ONE

image

WEEKNIGHTS at 10:30 EST

X Minus One aired on the NBC Radio Network from April 22, 1955 to January 9, 1958. It featured over 100 episodes of the best in adult science fiction from Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, Robert Heinlein, Clifford D. Simak, Ernest Kinoy plus many other writers that shaped our view of technology, imagination and the infinite. It's debut ushered in a new era in realistic science fiction and opened the doors for all subsequent sci-fi creations.

Tim Staffel Show

image
In an effort to get rid of copyrighted music on my radio show we are going to play German Music by a German author that we knew in Germany and who personally sent us this CD. The show will be on from 2:30-4:30 playing the CD twice. If you have any other requests please IM us at elmwoodradio

Here is his literary biography from the Goethe Instituet -

Tim Staffel's book Heimweh is one of the best books we read in Germany. Terrordrom is also quite good.

Here is a link to another short story of his called Huettenkaese

New Radio Station on Elmwoodstrip

image
We have finally gotten our radio station up. We are going to be scheduling talk shows in the coming week. I will post them all in a journal called radio. If you have any ideas or would like to have a show on the web, we can arrange that just email me paul@elmwoodstrip.com

You can find the link under the elmwood picture to the right. Its called Radio Free Elmwood. Once you click it will download the streaming mp3 fiel to the desktop. I find it works really well with iTunes for Mac and PC. iTunes is a free player available from

It also works with winAmp and Audion player and I'm sure many others.

I had my brother test this on his dial-up at home. It seemed to work fine.

Please send us emails with requests for shows and airtime.
