My Revolution passed away
My and (e:dcoffee) 's young energetic 1 1/2 year old cat "Revolution" had passed away during the night on Tuesday. This was completely unexpected- she was our healthy young cat. I still have no idea what happend.
It is such a shock, and I still am wondering where Revolution is, when I am home.
She was one of a kind... we called her our little puppy, because she loved to play fetch, and she loved to go outside, and would stand by the back door and meow to go outside, even if it was 10 degrees and snowing out!
She was so small, and all white, with two beautiful different colored eyes. She had such an expressive cute face. She always looked so busy thinking about things.
So beautiful...
Revolution and Dar napping in the sun...
Revolution LOVED her daddy (e:dcoffee)
So expressive. What's she thinkin about?
And she loved that black fuzzy pillow!
Oh look! what a cute present!
Our girls. Revolution loved to play.
And of course, she was an activist, a Revolution.
I will miss her soooo much

Need a place to get my haircut...
I've lived in Buffalo for 1 1/2 years now, and I haven't found a good place to get my hair cut. I've had 3 total haircuts:
1st one at UB North campus in the campus center thing, just because I needed a haircut, and I had some time between classes... Never lived up there, actually hate the place... but whatever.
2nd and 3rd haircuts- I went to "Now Salon" near Allen and Elmwood, and although I'm not against this place, I just don't feel comfortable- it's so trendy and too upscale for me, and I can't even have a conversation with this girl that cuts my hair. Also women's haircuts start at $25 or $30.
Now maybe I'm just cheap, but where I'm from in the county, haircuts cost $12.
Does anyone know of a place around Buffalo that you can get a normal haircut- no frills- that is like $20 or under?
Thanks! :-)

Landlord Troubles
About a month ago, I got home from work to find a bunch of shit moved around my apartment- my heater unplugged and in the middle of the living room, the shower curtain moved, the coffee table moved... and I was pretty freaked out because we've had someone break into our apt before...
And then I thought that maybe it was my landlord who unplugged the heater, because he pays utilities and he's cheap. About an hour later, I found a little note on a used envelope on my kitchen table from the landlord "WAS IN APT. NO ELECTRIC HEATERS ALLOWED. - JOE".
I was like WTF- that is a home intrusion. So, I left a nasty message on his cell about coming into my apt without permission... and I never heard back from him.
Then again today, I came home to another note on the kitchen table... "WAS IN APT. NEED TO CUT HOLE IN BEDROOM WALL NEXT WEEK. NO ELEC HEATERS!- REMOVE FROM APT! -JOE" ... I was like oh nice, this asshole came into my apt again without any warning, while I was not home. So, I called his cell immediately to leave 2 nasty messages about how it how it is not okay to come into my apt without permission, and by the way, I use the elec heater because its really cold in the apt, and by the way, I want all these rules in writing.
So, then David gets home and I say "We had another home intrusion today from our landlord"....
And David says "Oh, yea. They left a message on the machine yesterday about that".
FUCKING NICE... That would have been a good thing to know.
Now we both feel like assholes.

A lot has happened since last post.
Since last post, I have:
1. Set a wedding date: June 28, 2008. :-D
David and I have been engaged for a year now, so it was time to pick a date. Now in about 6 months, I'll have to start thinking about wedding plans... I'm excited to get married, just not really about the planning and all the work. All I know so far is that we will have a Quaker Wedding, and hopefully it will be outside.
2. Had a nice 4 year anniversary on November 17th. We made delicious Indian food at home (because we've finally figure out the secrets!) and then went to see "Reefer Madness" at the Alleyway Theater. It was pretty entertaining, and it had been a while since I had seen a live musical or play.
3. Had two nice Thanksgivings....
1st on Thanksgiving Day at David's family's. I made stuffed mushrooms... They are a lot of work, but so so good.
2nd Thanksgiving was at my family's out in Seneca Castle, on Saturday. My mom makes such a delicious and completely vegetarian thanksgiving dinner. Scalloped pototoes, stuffed mushrooms, squash, green salad, homeade wheat rolls, cranberries, etc...
Other than that, I've been working... not too much else.
I've been at my job at ECMC in the Adolescent Psych Unit for 4 months now. It's going well- I really enjoy the people I work with, and I like working in psych, and like the teenagers. It pays pretty damn well too.
It's just so crazy to go from being a full time student, surviving on a crappy part-time low paying job, never with more than $25 in the bank, to go to Working full time and bringing home a Full Paycheck. I don't know what to do with all this money. Save it I guess... for a house... for a wedding...
Oh yea, I put up my Christmas tree too- maybe a photo will come soon.

First entry
Seems like a pretty cool site. I think I will enjoy it, and getting to know others on here.
Had a pretty good weekend... Went out to eat at Mythos on Elmwood on Friday with David, then stopped by Hodge and got some Pinot Grigio wine... Haven't explored white wines as much previously- that one was pretty good.
Saturday, got to sleep in. Then we went out to buy robes at Amvets, because it's cold in our apt in the morning, especially when waiting for the shower to get hot. I'm quite content with mine- wore it most of the day today. We also went to FWS on Elmwood yesterday to look at coffee tables- to get an upgrade from our $6 Salvo special. We bought a sweet table, with metal frame and slate shelf, then a glass top. We had to assemble it- finally got it together at like 2 AM.
Today, we were pretty lazy, but it was very nice and relaxing.... Made pancakes and soy sausage for breakfast. Eventually we walked down to allen to buy some fancy beer at the store down there.
Im looking forward to this week, because I get Tuesday off for election day (it's a county holiday) :-) and then i get friday off for veterans day...
I'm wondering how things will turn out on Tuesday. I plan to vote all Green Party and Working Families when I can. I really wish we didn't have such a corrupt and lame 2 party system. I really think the green candidates would have so much more support with instant runoff voting, and if we didn't see government and the political system as only two parties.
I believe things will be slightly better with a dem controlled house and more democrats in govt, but it's so frustrating to see how alike most democrats and republicans really are. I was reading an article in the BuffNews earlier this week
and it was about many of Davis's views, which are appauling and completing un-Democratic... So annoying. I'm not in their district anyway, but it still sucks.
Allright, I guess that's all for now.

"First-Time Homeowner Credit
For those who bought a home last year or want to in the months ahead, Uncle Sam has a little present for you. This tax credit, essentially a temporary, no-interest loan, is being offered to those who bought -- or will buy -- a home between April 9, 2008, and June 30, 2009, and who didn't own a home during the three years preceding the purchase.
The maximum amount of the credit equals either 10% of the home's price or $7,500 ($3,750 if you are married, but filing separately), whichever is less. One hitch: Homeowners will have to repay the credit over 15 years by either owing more in taxes or receiving a smaller refund. So, if you claim the credit on your 2008 tax return, you’ll have to start repaying it when you file your taxes for 2010."
